Not much beats Spitfire for a good footie session ale,

 

Today, Rod, I have a bottle of Saltaire Blonde for the first half and a bottle of Landlord for the second. After that there is half a bottle of South African Malbec to clean the palate with tea.

Amazingly, and this is a real first, the other half we to Morridogs yesterday with a comprehensive list - bring me back any two of the seven listed (Which were Saltaire Blonde, Titus, Citra or Amarrillo, Timmy's Landlord, Boltmeker or GB) and she managed to pull off the totally unexpected and adhere to the request. Shame she then let herself down by saying they had Titus and she hadn't got it.

Good beers today, must mean a win, surely.

Now if I had done the beer shopping I would, but I'm having a small operation next week and have to isolate for two weeks beforehand.

I'm not a big fan of French Red at the moment, it tends to give me indigestion, especially the heavier stuff. Having discovered the mellowness of new world Malbec I'm very much into that. I will make an exception though for a very nice (and usually expensive goes with that) bottle of Chateau Neuf Du Pape. That's worth any amount of indigestion.

 

And matchday drinks is off topic in what way ? Sorry if your taste buds only run to canned John Smiths. some of us have taste.

 

Surely you just suggest she brings 1 of every one that she can find? That is my modus operandi with the wife, generally works out.

Not worth the risk. She would bring back cans of Boddingtons or similar and I flatly refuse to drink canned beer.
