I agree, but surely the club know the situation with regards Wood's future have the club have offered him an extension which he wont entertain, if so I see little point in keeping on playing him (not to be vindictive) but he's not been the Wood we saw last season and if he's not going to be around next season get someone at left full back who is.

I think Wood is more of a wing back who like to get forward and get crosses in. I think he is one player who doesn’t suit the system we are playing

Absolutely wrong, Park, Wood was awful as a wing back.

He's a full back through and through.

 

Exeter had a lot of possession without having loads of chances. The first two goals were bad marking, the penalty was down to a bad bounce that did for Hornby, the ball stopped.

 

They had more out than us, how many players do you want them to be missing before we get a result there? Just accept we were poor as we were against Barrow, I hope we improve Tuesday and get the 3 points.

 

Well he is or has been the best crosser in the team over the last few seasons so disagree

We had 8 possible first team players unavailable Odonnell, Hossanah, Clarke, Evans, Novak, Cook, Rowe, Ismael. No club in the lower divisins can cope with that sort of loss and yet as poor as we were today, we only lost by the odd goal in 5 , away to a team , who are very good at home and have a real chance of automatic promotion.

 

I too am perplexed by the long ball up to a single striker. We did the same with Lowe against Barrow. It tends to gift possession away and put us on the back foot. I’d like to see us go back to retaining the ball and playing balls into runners in behind.

Stevens has yet to convince me what his strengths are. If Clarke or Evans are fit on Tuesday I could see one of them returning to the starting line up.

Final point, the sheer amount of changes seem to cause a bit of chaos and we lost our structure. Defeat will remind us that it won’t be a cake walk and should push us on again hopefully.

Yeah but any club in England can cope without Ismail.

 

We didn’t exactly create a great deal either. We couldn’t string 3 passes together all afternoon.

 

Yet that made no difference to how the starting eleven played today. We now have a squad capable of dealing with injuries, today we just didn't play well. Nevr really tried to get the ball down and play and playing with no recognised striker our tactics just played into their hands. Not the end of the world, you always get results where you've had a bad day at the office, just don't want many more.

Just as I posted @YoungNath most thought just the one change AN Other for Clarke, unfortunately with Rowe, Clarke, Evans and Cook being unavailable we couldn't just stick Cook up top for Rowe, Clayton can't do 90 minutes so then T&S have to change the starting line up and with that a change of formation, we knew at some time we would lose our unbeaten run, hopefully we can get the players back and get the Scunthorpe game to go ahead and put today's performance behind us.

 

Ismael is actually a very skilfull footballer , its just that his body is made from glass.
