My only thought would be they were trying to go over the top with all the pace we had up front, but a lot of our guys were off the pace today so it just looked like aimless hoofing. It was largely aimless hoofing but you get my drift.

I highly doubt any of the forrads would have started had the other guys been available so they did ok. I would only ever play one of stevens and crankshaw going forward though, defending is neither guys strong point so to have them both leaves us too open for me.

Rowe was ill with a heavy cold but fortunately had a negative COVID test. Evans a slight knock same with Cook, should all be available Tuesday.

 

Just said Rowe had cold and isolating. Covid test just returned negative. Should be ok for Tuesday as should Evans.

 

We had replacements too, 2 of which are our stand out January signings. Both sides were forced into changes- lets not misrepresent things. We were beaten by a better side, simple as that.

 

They won't be needed on Tuesday. No way is that game gonna be played.

 

Let's not get carried away by today's defeat, let's just see how they react to their first defeat, and by that I mean let's see how the players AND management team deal with this setback. We had very little possession but could still have won the game.
Stevens was disappointing but other two look dangerous when they have the ball.
Exeter work very hard for each other when they have the ball, as do Cheltenham but we coped with them. We new Clarke would be out but losing Evans for Stevens weakened us, just when he was looking match fit.

we had the entire first choice forward line and two alternative centre forward missing who have been the basis of the great run we are on. You can’t lose those players against a side like Exeter and it not make a difference

I think for me he just needs some real pressure on his place. he's been in his comfort zone as our 1st choice a long time now and its starting to show. I would hope for him to stay but I think there are plenty of left backs as good as him out there.
