    You do know that Edin didn't actually do the work on the pitch don't you??

    If these signings are for mid table that's got to be a positive as most Edin-outers fear we are relegation fodder.

    Have you seen the quality in their first team and if he was playing in their first team do you think we would have been able to afford him. Just because he couldnt get in to that quality side doesn't make him a shite player, plus most of the championship CH wouldn't get near their first team.

    That’s not true, we signed him from Bayern Munich reserves who are the equivalent of a regional league 2 club

    And we signed Riley from Man Utd, one of the top sides in the world.

    But there's a reason they are coming to a lower league club and not progressing with their starter clubs.
    And couple that with the two other Germans we've had, who also played for Bayern, and have been subsequently released from our club. One of those players was possibly the worst keeper we've had for years.

    Players find their level. Let's just hope this new boy and Riley are some hidden gems that have slipped through the net. Until they've settled in and played consistently for a few months, I'm neither getting excited or depressed about these signings.

    I think there's slight differences - Riley captained the under 23's at 21 years old - has played first team football, for both United, and has been on loan at Sheff Utd - albeit curtailed by injury.
    Van Gaal obviously saw a fair bit in him to promote him to the fringes of the first team.

    But the two younger ones have just about zero experience of L1 quality senior football, sorry but to expect Riley to replace McMahon or Isherwood to replace any CB, adequately, is just not going to happen right now. That's why I am hoping for a good few proven (at similar level) arrivals soon, but then I was hoping to the very last minute in January too..........
