Watt and Cooke have the ability to run games; what they lack is the ability to physically boss games.

Levi Sutton, however, appears to have picked up a bit of that slack. It will be interesting to see if we sign the central midfielder many fans have been crying out for.

 

He certainly looks a different player since he reigned himself in. Long may it last.

 

Has turned it around after those comical scenes where he headed it about in his own box trying to clear it. Bolton game was it?

 

Absolutely need another DM. Sutton gets injured or suspended again and we're left without a midfielder who can put his foot in. Again.

Seems to balance the midfield perfectly as the other two aren't always the most mobile. Doesn't half have an engine on him when he gets going as well, his running with the ball and just his pace at getting past people is a huge outlet for us.

 

He scored the second in that game to be fair.

Kennedy & Banks should have written themselves into history as one of our best ever midfield pairs.

 

I was in the front upper tier of the Kop, directly behind that as it went in. Bloody marvelous.
I'm still convinced we threw the towel in too early that season. Richmond and Jeffries panicked and got rid of various players, including Collymore, who'd done nothing wrong, thereby condemning us to relegation. And it's been downhill all the way from then apart from the Parky/SM2 years.

 

Banks had great ability but was fat and lazy.

 

I think the best times we played as an attacking team, was switching play from right to left quickly. It was a joy to watch and I remember going to games thinking how many we’d win by. Losing never crossed my mind.
