    I'm not sure it's quite as simple as freeing up a wage, he'll have negotiated a large part of the remaining salary.

    Reasonable in a back 4, rabbit in the headlights in a back 3. All in all regardless of formation, hardly the best centre back to have ever graced the shirt. Won’t be sorry to see the back of him.

    I hope you are right. Footballers have had it far too easy. You can perform like a wet lettuce , not get picked to play , (actually do your job) and still get full pay. Then when your contract ends, some other mug will sign you on. Hopeless Akpan is a prime example.
