Match Thread Away V Scunthorpe - Tuesday 23 March@ 7pm

Tbf it’s just Derby kids, I fully expected Chorley to win their wins over Wigan and Peterborough were far more impressive. Just shows how important it is for kids to get men’s football instead of sat in academies until early 20’s, ala Jamie Vardy.

 

It was a Derby Side entirely comprised of youth players after they had a major covid outbreak this week. I don't even think the management team were there, and their training ground has been closed in recent days so they won't have had any opportunity to prepare.

 

Chorley got their game on by using covers and blowers. Shame on Scunny for being so lax about this.

 

Its piss poor. Their should be a consequence, probably a fine. Its really not good enough.

 

Totally tinpot. You can bet if it was a cup match v spurs they would have got it on.

 

Morecombe play Chelsea tomorrow in the FA Cup. Not sure they'd be up for playing again on Tuesday.

 

If you have a little read up on Scunthorpe they currently have a load of injuries, with the majority due to return later this month. You can't help but think that they did nothing to get this game on. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure we're always awful after we have had a break like this, really bad for us this I feel.

 

The pitch has never seen a cover overnight everyone in the world knew it was going to freeze last night.

I'll go one further and say that they have done their best to ensure the game is called off absolutely tin pot everyone knew it was going to freeze last night. Injuries, poor form and players coming in not up to speed nothing can be done now but the FA should be questioning what they have done to ensure the game goes ahead.

Play on Wednesday then. Its going to be a midweek game anyway and it shouldn't be down to whenever Morecambe fancy playing. We are still 4/5 games behind where we should be in a normal season and Morecambe have played 1 fewer than us too. It is likely that there will be a few more postponements before the end of the season so every team should be making use of the nearest free mid-week to catch up on games or the season will not finish in time

 

Least he can look at his Ipad still.

Currently watching lincoln highlights at home. Very sunny and people out in the gardens. This game was called off prematurely with very little protest from scunthorpe i expect.
