By sticking with them as caretaker managers Ryan has failed to make a decision. Whether T&S, Adams, Hurst or Lowe are the right men for the job is irrelevant, it’s poor leadership, make a decision and then back it. Sticking with caretakers until further notice is not making a decision. It’s indecision.

Thought we had a full recruitment team (that's not been announced) to take care of that
Same would have applied to any incoming new manager
Full confidence cant be assured with any manager experience tells any CEO of any club lessens the risk

Don't agree that anyone bar fordy is popping at sparks. Most are just saying its totally unclear communication, which it is.

Perhaps we have a target/ agreement in place for a new manager in May whose currently contracted? I get we can't say that if we have, but why not just give them tge job until the end of the season and be clear about it.

This statement is too open ended and ambiguous and why on earth haven't we named the new recruitment team ?

Just be clear about it and everyone will be happy thats all and thats nothing to do with sparks being 29.

I'd have the same reaction if Rhodes had announced it.

Recent results have given the club a degree of confidence that we will not finish in the bottom two.
If we had interviewed a knockout candidate I think the club would have appointed him despite the recent results. I’m presuming we have n’t so the boys have been given longer. The club will continue to look for possible future candidates available between now and the summer and it’s now up to T&S to make themselves impossible to replace. We are edging our bets.

They have made a decision they have decided to keep these two who have done such a good job over a short period of time in place until they are confident they have the right people in charge. Surely better than the quick decision made on new managers made in the past

The recruitment team lead on scouting, recommendations, data, negotiations with clubs/players. Final say rests with the manager though.

This whole situation smacks of being reactionary again by Sparkes.

Gives Stuart a new contract, then sacks him 2 weeks later.

Says he wants a new permanent manager in time for the transfer window, now he’s giving 2 academy coaches the job “on an interim basis”. What does that mean exactly? Seems a strange situation when you’re trying to encourage players to sign. They are either given the job or they’re not. For the record these lads have done very well, but like with Sparkes himself, when we hit a rough time where is the experience to help guide them through?

I think Sparkes need to come out and explain exactly what his vision is without constantly going back to saying “I’m only 29” and “I wouldn’t have taken this job if I didn’t think we’d be successful”. Yes we know that Ryan. But what is your plan.

Where are we Lee Turnbull? Everybody knows so why keep it a secret? Are Trueman and Sellars actually working for him? What is the structure?

I get the feeling by the summer the whole merry go round will start again.

How exactly is he rewarding them? They're basically keeping the seat warm until results drop or Sparks decides he wants someone else. It says they are involved in January transfer recruitment so give them till the end of the season. Interim is no stability at all.

Thats my fear. Everything we do seems reactionary and completely lacking in long term planning or clarity. We’re still in the fight of ours lives here!

I'm afraid the answer to the last question is Stuart. I think it's becoming clear, if it wasn't already, that the players were completely disenchanted by his bizarre selections and tactics, poor game management and sloppy preparation both in training and pre-match. I think it's also probably well known within the game how poor he is as a manager which is why so many turned us down in the summer.

Spot on. In the space of 2 weeks we’ve gone from extending a failing managers contract to create the illusion of stability ahead of a crucial transfer window, to having open ended interim management ‘until further notice’.

Simon Parker has basically been saying Turnbull is arriving shortly in the last couple of articles so I assume it's sorted. Will certainly help to have someone recruitment focused. Hopefully back on the road to more professionalism in the club.

Posted on the other thread the other day it’s Turnbull and Trueman and Sellars for the foreseeable. As you were so to speak.

Fairly pleased with it but does it leave it open to a panic if a few results go against us? And yet more upheaval and change. If we think they are good enough to look after a window and nearly 12 games by end of January they are good enough until the summer surely?
