Maybe the pool of applicants didn’t come up to expectations and the two coaches are giving the club more time. After all this with regard Hurst is pure speculation the only thing we know is we spoke to him.

At the present time I don't think Hurst or A N Other could have got more from this squad, as you say hard to beat that was always going to be the starting point for any one taking the job on, I do agree whatever call Ryan makes it has to sooner than later.
If the recruitment guy is Lee Turnbull which recent information suggests it is I would think he would have a portfolio of players we could look at, so be it Hurst or T&S they will have a choice of players they feel would improve the squad.

Another way to look at it is they went into the interview process hopefully with an open mind during which the people looking after the job showed by results and the way they went about it that they may have the perfect people already in their employ. Yes it’s only 4 matches but if they employ externaly the new guy won’t be able to demonstrate in the same way and it will be a gamble as to whether in Hurst case we get Shrewsbury version or the Ipswich/ Scunthorpe version

    We’re unbeaten in 4
But maybe lose the next 4
If T&S has the team fighting and putting in the effort
It’s what the fans want from the team

It’s always going to be a gamble whoever you appoint, which is why it’s better to try make a quick decision because now if results turn Sparks will be blamed for making the wrong call whoever is in charge.

Spot on we are going to get beaten eventually because we still have a weak squad of players of which at the moment they are getting the best out of. the rest of this season is about steering clear of relegation and setting the standard for the next one

No it's not though. Your post highlights why this club isn't successful.

It's about having an identity on the pitch and sticking to it.

Effort is from a team that will battle near the bottom. The hope for the club is to go up soon and kick on.

Think Brentford, Swansea for example. I would rather a team with a playing style then anything. As I said before it worked for Parky.

I identify with the current way the team is playing. Organised attacking and a togetherness on the pitch. That has set an identity for me by T&S. Clear and simple. Why you still bleating on about fans being at fault. I was never asked what I thought of R&R taking over the club. Were you?

The effort was there it's just that McCall didn't seem to know what he was doing.

There is a bonus having Trueman and his mate, For the last couple of years they will have seen the up and coming talent from the other clubs we have played and may be able to recruit them

This season is far from over with over half of the games to play so I don't get those who are happy for the rest of the season to just fizzle out and aim for next year. If we get 4 quality additions in jan and get rid of some of the deadwood there is no reason why we can't make a late charge for the play offs.

It would be good to hear some kind of update from Sparks tomorrow on the search for a new manager and also Lee Turnbull. The silence is deafening at the moment. All we hear are rumours from leaking taps that Hurst signed a contract last week and was going to be unveiled last monday, then it was going to be Wednesday and then today. Still the fans are none the wiser.

I tend to drink more than I should on a Sunday so perhaps my edin IS in the clouds but does anyone know how many points Plymouth had after 20 games last year?

This was suggested on here by another poster (sorry, forgotten who) but what if it is Hurst but we are waiting for him to become available....he was sacked in January 2020 after his relationship with the Scunny chairman, Swann, broke down.

What if his severance package prevents him from managing anyone in the next year and we’re waiting for that period to elapse? It would explain a lot. The fact T and S have done so well in steadying the ship could have been a surprise bonus.....

Didn't Tranmere have a strong caretaker management who were very successful and then Hill came in and thats changed since?
