Trueman and Sellars with their modern methods of coaching have taken over, played a system that suits the players at their disposal, and got the best out of players such as Paudie and Sutton who were poor under McCall and his wretched formations

 

I don't think you're reading that set play right at all, but it's obvious we've a difference of opinion.

Personally, that's criminal defending and I've no doubt Trueman and Sellars will run that over for him a few times.

Bottom line is he got nowhere near either man, and that is the worst outcome possible.

Trueman just said that on the radio. Telling players what they expect IN possession and OUT of possession. Clarity. Nothing complicated. Training sounds better as well. And it is showing.

 

Why does he?

If he has decided on Hurst then it will be and should be Hurst. Hurst isn't just going to wait around.
If he has decided on another manager at another club then it has to be that man.

Also many are saying Rhodes is still calling the shots, so maybe Ryan doesn't have any big calls to make.

People have to remember the bigger picture. Trueman is important to our set up but might be needed in his old role more. Think long term not short term.

To pick up 10 points from 12 is fantastic and with 3 out of last four games been away from home makes even more impressive onwards and upwards well done city and trueman +sellers these two have got to be in with a shout. I've give them next two home games then make a decision. Personally I'd give them till end of season and bring a head of recruitment in to help with signings in Jan.

What a level headed individual, refreshing to hear such honesty from a young professional.

 

Teams definitely not just running through our midfield these last few games.Sutton definitely playing a bit more sensibly.

 

McCalls stubbornness was his downfall. He was set in his ways. BRE and DMH kept getting gametime. He refused to look at free agents. He persisted with three at the back. Every week he fretted about the opposition and worried too much. He blamed injuries when he elected to go with a small squad.

These lads came in and the shite hasn’t got a look in. They switched to 4-2-3-1, have communicated with the players what has been expected from them and, ultimately it has worked.

The players want to play for them and are fighting and battling. We don’t go into every away game fearful of losing.
