Short honeymoon and back to the same old crap by the looks of it

 

Two good strikes by Wood,

 

With bringing in Evans and Donaldson we've lost some of the passing from the team and seemingly we're playing many more longer balls than previous matches. Clarke also hasn't had much of the ball and all those things combined means we've created little.

Defensively, setting up as solid as the last three games and pressing high when needed but when we win the ball back we're not doing much with it.

Still, solid so far for an away game.

 

That's a bit prescriptive.

Who cares who provides the threat as long as we do actually provide one?

It's not up to us to decide who Tranmere focus on.

Also, 'old crap' would be two down by now.

 

Conditions look terrible the balls bobbling and blowing about all over, look solid enough against a decent side. Would happily take a point.

 

Yep, started ok and then concentrated well in defence. Ok performance.

We aren't fantastic by any means. But if you can't differentiate between how solid we look now compared to three weeks ago you should start watching tiddlywinks.

 

I would take a solid 0-0 draw all day long. Build a solid team from the back is always my preference.

 

I think we’ve played fairly well. I’d like to see Pritchard on for Evans.

 

I notice Wood took one for the team, pulling Vaughan back to prevent him breaking away. It might come back to haunt us but good to see one of ours do that. How many times this season has that option not been taken and oppo score a goal?

 

I think it’s more that their winger is excellent

 

Yeah, no idea what Evans does these days.

Average half. We struggled with their left winger but not had many shots to save for ROD.

Their winger being fast doesn't stop FCD completing simple passes or controlling the ball. Unfortunately he's way off the pace.

 

That change surprised me both Cooke & Pritchard have done well recently, if they wanted to give Evans game time bring him on 65/70 minutes, I'm far from unhappy how we've performed.

 

There's been some dodgy passing to our own teammates in our half. Balls seem to be a bit short or the pitch is bobbly.

Cooke for me. Need another passer in the middle. Watt trying to do it all himself and its not really working. Or Clarke needs to get himself more in the game. He seems to be on the edge of it and not getting the ball or influencing the play enough.

 

I think we got away with the changes so far. Need Evans to become more of an influence and both full backs to stay tight on their men in defence. Still need Donaldo to step up and create more. Happy with being level and don't think we have allowed them too much although their pace on the left is a worry.

 

Lacked composure in possession and resorted to aimless long balls which is meat and drink for their back line. Attacking reinforcements can't come soon enough.

 

Forgot Evans was playing tbh. Whole midfield is quiet.

 

Tough day for Cousin-Dawson but this match up will do him the world of good in his development, he is a very strong player physically for an eighteen year old.
I don't think French is as bad as Fordy thinks but I agree with him that Cousin-Dawson is a much better prospect. Then again French is more of a centre half playing out of position.
