I don't think he would. What Trueman and Sellers have done is what the majority on here have been banging on about for months and what Stuart was too stubborn and too set in his ways to do. Keep it simple, play players in their best position and use a formation they all understand and are comfortable with. If Stuart was still here, that change wouldn't have happened.

Which is what Guthrie did on Tuesday to set up Donaldson/Cooke. So that also makes him a quality footballer? I'd be very interested to see the assists and goals scored table for Clarke. Driving for show, putting for dough! There's no point in being able to switch feet and play through balls, if there's no end product.

 

Think the delay in an announcement only points one way - Trueman is under serious consideration. Sparks has already got one major decision wrong in giving Stuart a new deal, he can't afford to get this appointment wrong with our perilous league position and appointing Trueman off the back of 3 games in professional football would be a massive gamble to say the least. I'd be open to it if we were comfortably mid table, but we're not and the risk is too great.

Gotta be the experience of Hurst for me. The lads have stepped in and done an admirable job, I’d sooner keep them on board in the youth team for now and improve things there, get the club batting in the same direction.

You are quite negative! If we lose Hurst to Grimsby that says everything we need to know about his character. If that happens I'd give the job to Trueman and Sellers until the summer. We would need a decent DOF to assist with transfers.

 

A compromise might be keep Trueman as assistant
to whoever comes in to keep the players onside. You

so maybe keep that impetus and see how we do?
