Either he knows something we don't or he's basing his opinion on what the club was like when he was here. Got the impression that he had an over inflated opinion of himself and his abilities. He's hardly set the football world on fire since he left Valley Parade. He probably needs to moderate his own ambitions now, because he looks like a yesterday's man as far as managing's concerned.

Change the is for was a good manager and I agree. Rubbish at us, Sunderland and Blackpool. Outdated style and generally moans a lot.

 

I am if we appoint the right manager. Of course they will change. Stay up this season is the minimum and I wouldn’t demand a new manager did anything else. Then next season a play off push at the most. It’s harder to overhaul a squad now with the salary cap meaning players will probably hang about for their contracts in full. Then a serious promotion push the season after if we miss out or lose in the play offs. Which happens as it’s a lottery.
We have to be at that end of the table in this league

 

He had Robbie Keane with him at Boro. Can’t see him being cheap. Also had Leo Percovich but think he’s still a Boro so no chance of luring him

Maybe he’s realised he needs experience with him. It’s a different appointment if we do go for Woodgate. Could be a master stroke but my slight worry is if it’s him he’s got it because of his promise of bringing on the academy players like he did at Boro

 

So over the next 2.5 seasons, with a 'good' manager you want us to be pushing for an automatic promotion position.

If a member of the hierarchy made that statement, I'm sure their would be derision.

I expect, no demand, a promotion challenge next season, not a push on the play offs.

 

After today's showing at Old Trafford Leeds fans, thought our defense was poor, United took them apart could have been 8/9 Meslier kept the scoreline down with some exceptional saves .

When you listen to Sparks talk he goes on about the academy. So maybe you are right mate.

 

Whoever gets the job, there is no gaurantee they will be a sucess.
Every appointment is a gamble. We have to hope this time it works, as this manager merry go round certainly has not worked this passed few years.
If it is Woodgate, i don't think his Middlesborough stint will have much bearing , it was his first job as coach and with a championship club. Hopefully he learnt a lot from it , if he does get the reins at city.
Although i would be amazed if he wanted to coach at the bottom end of league two, can't be for the money.

I can't see too many of the complimentary comments you refer to so, come on, try again.

 

Not many teams go from a relegation fodder side to serious promotion contenders in 6 months. That’s too much of a swing when he’s going to have someone else’s players still in his squad
