Did it say.... Blah blah blah, City are not good enough?

    Forgive me if I'm paraphrasing.

Well done City and our 2 'stand in' coaches, so pleased to see so many positive posts on here tonight. And I know 100%, unlike some managers when they leave a club, Stuart will be as pleased as the rest of us this evening so lets not even debate it.
Whoever comes in now at least has something to build on, a style that suits the players and a youth team management team that he will be able to work with. I am pleased to see some of the players we knew could do more stepping up to the mark but to be slightly more ruthless, there are around 6 first team squad players who we HAVE to replace to really move forward (I could name them but dont think they would contrast with the thoughts of many people on here), Truman and Sellers have started this process and I just hope these changes dont get neglected - we have players who are not up to it and if we can replace them with the right alternatives we might just start to see a semblance of the team we all aspire to following.
    But tonight feels good

Actually I'm not totally convinced by Cousin-Dawson yet. He is young so may grow into the RB role. If French didn't keep showing his man inside he would still edge it for me. Bloody hell, half agreeing with Fordy!

He has been defensively solid enough although not particularly quick off the mark - a couple of players tried to go round him today and nearly did, he blocked the cross or body checked them.

He doesn't offer much going forward or try to beat his man - a couple of times he opted to stop and cross and hit the defender. He didn't try to go past or beyond his counterpart much.

Having said that, we just needed a defender right now and he's done a good job but if we need someone more attacking then he needs to up his game or improve his skills.

French is poor. Cant defend. Keeping him out of the first team is a wise decision.

He skirted round the question of why the sudden improvement with the reference to injuries but to me the giveaway was when he said that we should train as we play and included players being happy in training. I have to say that like one or 2 others he certainly played with a spring in his step today. The difference in Paudie over the last couple of games has been quite stunning.

This wouldn’t be the first squad to seemingly down tools under Stuart.

Decent performance today. The funny thing is that we’re not doing anything groundbreaking or revolutionary and yet the performances have been significantly better in the last 2 games, particularly our defensive solidity. Makes you wonder what was going on under McCall.

Anyway, looking forward, the players seem to be showing that they have enough about them to avoid relegation and if we can reshape the squad a bit in January then hopefully we can start aiming for a glamorous mid table finish.

The stupid thing is when he tried being more solid like today against Cheltenham we got a reasonable performance if not a result but then in the next match Stuart reverted back to the old nondescript set up

Mccarthy & Stone, the posh ones. They are the Walter Matthau and Jack Lemon of Bradford

I can already tell you more about how these two guys who I've never heard of wanted us to set up than I can about how Stuart wanted us to set up.

Stuart wanted fluidity, I guess, and that means not adhering to a static formation.

But it's League Two, and to say it didn't work is an understatement.

Hopefully I've seen AOC bombing down the right wing for the last time this season, even if he is perfectly capable of doing so.

Absolutely spot on. For 15 minutes in the second half Cambridge looked what they are, a top six team, but we matched them and got our foot back in. We made them look poor, in the same way we made Harrogate and Salford look good. The future looks a lot brighter tonight
