Redfearn (Redders as I call him, though we've never met and he's never heard of me) was apparently superb as head of academy at Leeds. Apparently.

I would not baulk at all if we employed him as DoF or something similar, if he can oversee our youth system and/or first team activities, I'd be happy. Has worked under Warnock, done just about every job possible in football, and is extremely experienced operating within well run clubs.

If anyone has the CV to step into a top role at a football club, surely it's someone like my mate Redders.

Still waiting for the odds to tumble on Hurst before I am convinced. You can still get generous odds for him. Lowe still favourite

up until this week the women’s team was independent of the club but has now come ‘in-house’ with a change of management

Whilst agreeing with you on this we need to remember any manager in our category will have had some bad times or he wouldn’t have been coming here Hurst was hot property up until a couple of years a go

The scunthorpe chairman stated he sacked Hurst over a disagreement not related to his coaching skills or team performances ,it was that Hurst hadn't followed his demands of cutting down the squad numbers and still had 5 players that were on league1 wages even though Hurst had got rid of a big part of the squad. They had several arguments over this and Hurst and his assistant walked away stating that the relationship between him and the chairman had become toxic. I think Hurst will do a decent job for us if he's left alone to run things how he wants like he did at Grimsby and Shrewsbury.

Not so sure about that. He’s been correct a few times recently.

However I’ve been convinced enough by what I’ve been told to back Hurst with Wm Hills.

Jonathan Woodgate still 3rd favourite with most bookies, his odds have consistently stayed around the 3/1 mark. I wonder if he has had an interview

I think I’d rather have Hurst than Lowe.

Edit: I’ve seen that Lowe’s teams have been described as to gung-ho - that was McCall’s problem half the time, playing too far up the pitch and leaving gaping holes at the back. Hurst seems to have a style that’s we’re more accustomed to at City, a 4-4-2, and has more managerial experience than Lowe.

On balance Hurst would be my choice.

You can’t compare like for like like that. There are so many variables that influence things.

Why “softening us up”? Do you think people will be disappointed?

What other reason than to popularise his appointment hoping to quell any doubters to run a front page photo spread on him, Notice no one else has that exposure,
