From what I can remember of his Shrewsbury team, they were somewhat like us the other night. Liked to play with CDMs protecting the back four and one up top, not a hoof ball merchant but a defensive minded manager who’d look to get the team solid. Wouldn’t be my first choice, but nowhere near my last either I’d be confident we’ll stay up if he came in from what I saw against Crawley, as he’d get similar from the players but look to improve on it. Also has experience with Shrewsbury of getting a team away from the drop zone.

I’d rather Lowe but he’s actually a bigger gamble imo with the squad we have, much more open and expansive manager, but as we saw with Stuart this team gets picked apart playing like that. It would all come down to January if we got Lowe in, we’d need much more quality to play how he’d want us to.

1-0 up and sit in and let them break you down style. Think Parky again. Which we can’t argue with Parky but it’s all we seem to do. Bowyer was same. Just bored of it.

plus he loves wingers and we don’t have any so that’s 3 signings we need there. Usually one up front a big target man. Don’t have one?

I agree with you in part. A poor managerial appointment will reflect back onto Sparks whether that's justified or not. It will be his second big decision since being appointed and he can't really afford to make a mistake with it.

I'm surprised how many have already been rejected prior to anybody having been appointed. That must be a first even for us City fans! ;)

If you are so adamant that Hurst has got the job, you could make yourself a pre-Christmas fortune. You can still get odds ranging from 4/1 to 8/1 with various bookies fill your boots mate

And if win rates are an indicator that everyone seems to be using 56.8% in L2 & L1

If you listen to podcasts have a listen to Si Ferry’s on under the cosh. He loved him. Makes them run through brick walls for him if he likes you. Only worry would be he runs them to death. Can we do that in a covid packed fixture list and not kill them off?

Good for you mate. I shall look out for his odds to tumble overnight then, because you will have spooked the bookies

I would not find that too surprising to be honest. Let Trueman and the players concentrate on Saturdays game before making an announcement. That said, I'm not convinced we have given the job to Hurst, the bookies would have had wind of this now and made him short odds on, if not stopping taking bets, however, you can still get generous odds across the board for him

Sounds a reasonable opinion but who the hell is BamyBantam?
Is he or she the much converted dripping tap in disguise.

Given anything over £50 needs approval he should have tickets with a lot of separate bookies, all of whom probably talk to each other. Its guessing, if Hurst had the job the betting market would be more or less closed
