Rubbish manager and has some dodgy dealings with his agent being his brother or brother in law I think and signing players from him. it’s not entirely stuck wherever he has been but clubs never been happy with him. Footballs god awful aswell

Just a name I saw elsewhere, as with most managers on the bookies list he's had success as well as bad times.

Do you have anything to back up these claims about ‘dodgy dealings’? It’s quite a bold suggestion to make about somebody.

    Afternoon president.

I'm not really versed on the markets around New manager at a club betting.

My beliefs are that the betting industry will rely on contacts within the sport, be it club 'officials', agents and/or former/current players/coaching teams.
Beyond, analysing articles, watching patterns both locally and beyond and being aware of select customers (those with potential inside information) will play a part.

Plus a lump of guesswork. The most daft name mentioned either in shop, social media ot online, and these bookmakers will dangle the carrot and offer odds. I mean Sam Allardyce at 40s, Zesh @25s.....

Markets on next manager at this level will be very narrow. Small amounts will account for movement in the market. As an example, if say Gary Bowyer was 25s, a bookmaker may lay 25s to nominal amounts before reducing odds. If we cap GB at £1000 liability, only £40 has to be staked to see the odds tumble. And of course, who wants the bet may have a significant part in reducing the odds. Liquidity in the next manager markets are low and as such, caution will be exercised.
At my place, any bet of £50 or more has to be authorised prior to striking the bet.

To put that in context, backing Man City tonight to beat West Brom, you can have a significant 5 figure amount, before seeking authorisation.

By the way, as I typed this, Natalie Portman appeared on that rather lovely Miss Dior advert. Ironic, eh?

as Macanthony said about him on his mad podcast, everywhere he's been he's failed so he must have one of the best agents in football. makes sense it would be his brother haha

I would like to see Cowley get it myself. I suspect he probably failed at Hudders due to a lower league manager struggling to get players coming from champ/pl backgrounds to buy into what he was doing, as opposed to him being 'found out'.

With small clubs it’s more likely to be someone lumping £50 on a candidate swinging the odds than insider knowledge.

Did he fail at hudds though? His job requirement was to keep them up. He did. Stupid to get rid if you ask me

Mike, it can be much less than that. Like I said earlier, low liquidity in the market will influence.

Any decent inside information (though not totally sure what that constitutes), will keep the price 'artificially' low

I'm loving the idea that degenerate gamblers are betting on random managers for literally no reason :joy:

I love how reasoned their choices are too - I'm not being obnoxious (intentionally), I genuinely find it funny! Why??

Harry Redknapp was a dodgy dealer but a very good manager at some of the clubs he managed.

It seems like this is a hill to die on for you so this is the last thing I'll say on the matter.
Its very hard to judge someone solely on numbers. Have a lot of decent players left the club recently? Much like McCann at hull when they got relegated? Are the players already already of a low quality?

Its easy if not essential to have high win percentages when you have world stars at your disposal.

I will ask you now based on your own metrics who would YOU consider? Baring in mind most managers with a good enough win percentage wont come here and if could, wouldnt suit our style of play. (mike flynn) Its an absolute fallacy to base a manager solely on win percentage. I hope those at the top know that too.
