Bantams banter will. One of them works for the sporting life, closely affiliated with sky bet. Stands to reason he is talking him up following the shortening of odds or vice versa

No more so than the trauma of being convicted of assault and given a suspended sentence was for him in 2010, I think he is probably well acquainted with West Midlands Police.

At least it would drive season ticket sales up from the local community.

Don’t rule out Pete Wild at Halifax, not even mentioned in the betting but took Halifax to the play offs last season when they were tipped as certs for relegation, just won three in a row scoring goals for fun. Defeated Fulham at Craven cottage when caretaker at Oldham. Sparks mentioned we might go for someone still in contract.

I wouldn't argue with that. He's got a good record on a shoestring budget.

Cowley Bros had a very good record in non league
and deserved their chance at Lincoln and lets face
it, they did wonders there. They were a good "fit"
like Parky was for us but they've struggled stepping
up and I'm unsure about them as suitable for us.

I put Alexander mainly because he's been the rounds,
knows league 2 etc and Salford used him in my opinion
to achieve league status then moved on hoping for better
things. Fair enough, horses for courses but we need someone
who can hit the ground "sprinting" to get us away from the
trap door. My 1st choice would be Paul Cook but doubt he
would give us a second thought.

There's 3 routes the club could go in my opinion...

    1. Appoint a big name manager, who's been out of work for a while, until the end of the season in order to avoid relegation. Come the end of the season, said manager may be offered a new contract but would most likely move on to a bigger club. (Adkins)

    2. Appoint a standard League Two level manager, who is currently out of work, until the end of the season. If he does a good job, the club offers a contract extension. (Hurst / Alexander)

    3. Appoint a younger, up and coming manager, who's doing a good job elsewhere, on a long term deal with the aim of getting us back at the right end of the table by the end of next season. (Wild / Flynn)

He rejected multiple chances early on because they weren't big enough teams. Apart from being assistant for Trinidad & Tabago for a while which let's be honest International Management is less involved even if you are manager let alone an assistant he hasn't tried his hand at lesser roles to learn the trade. Lets just look at some of his peers

Ole: Man Utd Forward Coach, Man Utd u23 manager, Molde (Turning them from a Newcastle type team who were generally mid table with the occasional relegation in there to title winners and regularly near the top). Cardiff, Molde (Again), Man Utd

Lampard: Chelsea Youth Coach, Derby, Chelsea

    Arteta: Man City Assistant, Arsenal

Gerrard: Liverpool Youth Coach, Liverpool u18 manager and then Rangers

    Terry: Villa Assistant

Woodgate: Liverpool Scout, Middlesbrough u18 assistant manager, Middlesbrough Assistant Manager, Middlesbrough Manager

    Micheal Carrick: Man Utd Coach

Steve Bruce: Shelfield United, Huddersfield, Palace, Birmingham, Wigan, Sunderland, Hull, Vill, Wednesday, Newcastle

Scott Parker: Spurs u18 manager, Fulham Assistant, Fulham Manager

Slaven Bilic: Hajduk Split, Croatia u21, Croatia, Loko Moscow, Besiktas, West Ham, Ittihad. West Brim

Ryan Giggs: Man Utd Coach, Man Utd Caretaker Manager, Man Utd Assistant, Wales Manager

They have all put more effort into learning the trade at lower levels. The likes of Lampard may have got help because of his high profile, a profile much larger than Sol's but most also did work for a club they were a 'legend' at or one they ended their career at. Sol was never getting a job at Spurs as he burnt those bridges and he was never held in that high regard at Arsenal so he was never going to have an easy in but he spent like 6 years waiting on a top-level job before even being willing to take the Oxford job. And if he came out with statements like 'I'm one of the greatest minds in Football' in the interview like he did after they rejected him then who can blame anyone saying no to hjim

Trouble is, win tonight (yeah, I know) then all the current applicants cv's on Ryan's desk would probably be binned ..

And this is why the bame rule is ridiculous. Surely Rayman knows he’s just a token minority getting an interview because boxes need to be ticked. That’s almost as racist as the whole logic behind it!

The problem is you need players in Jan but I imagine you also don't have loads of money so you need someone who not only will be appealing to players BUT more importantly, bigger clubs having enough respect for them to trust them with their players on loan.

On that list, I'd take a punt on Keane myself just because he is the obvious one on the list to strike fear in some of your overpaid players who seem to not really care as long as they get paid. BRE would turn up to a match with two black eyes lol. On a serious note though I could see Ole and Butt letting a better quality of United player end up at City than other managers, you like Salford have had loans they wouldn't usually have got without the United links (Di'shon Bernard for example who played in the Europa League for United last season, other players who got a EL spot in that match who have gone on load went to Championship or top half League 1 team) so a manager with a strong link to a PL club even now would get you better loan options than Samuels

Oh and can someone explain what idiots are putting money on Gary Bowyer

I doubt people are putting money on Bowyer - no matter what the odds say! I just can't see that at all.

Because the betting sites know exactly who the club might be talking to, which is why Bowyer is a low as 25-1 with some

Do they ? I would say the betting sites just roll out any known names and base the odds on whoever is silly enough to lump money on it. sure @bantamdave41@bantamdave41 can confirm this as he's in the game I think. I'd seriously doubt that the bookies have inside information on whose applied and base most of it on websites like the sack race

Not a bad price. Decent track record on low budget. Location works for him. Halifax get compo. He gets a step forward in his career.

    Everyone wins.
