Round the pitch once and then meet me by the changing rooms, in alphabetical order for a twatting. Then we concentrate on ball work as RK squeezes them until they drop off then onto a shooting session where RK fires live ammo at the players as they run away Benny Hill style.

Parkin clings to Parkinson's shirt tails. I used to see him regularly at Apperley Bridge and was far from impressed. It's time Parky found a new number 2 in order to resurrect his career. If Parkin came, get your money on a relegation spot. The rest of Parky's team were spot on but Parkin - NO.

Who ever we get in the aim has just got to be to stop us going down, restore some pride and hopefully use the Jan transfer window to bring in some fresh faces who can go with us next season when hopefully we can shed the players who don't want to be here. Anyone thinking we are suddenly going to turn into promotion contenders this season is kidding themselves no matter who we get and I have an awful feeling well be seeing another managerial change at the end of the season someone has to be given a bit of time to ship out the dross and get decent players in.

Personally I'd have PP back he was a great fit for the club the only thing he needed to get us up to the champ was cash and being left to it. If Rupp and Sparks can do that I think he could get us going again.

Parkin does the job that Stuart would be perfect at

Imagine him at training shouting and screaming at them then setting his dog on them BRE would be running to the police for protection.

It's an interesting one how a manager carries the same number 2 around with him wherever he goes.
We see it all the time, as with Stuart and Kenny Black. This despite an increasing number of sackings on their CV's.

I guess it is who they feel comfortable with but cannot understand why they don't bring in other assistants with a different perspective and specialist skillset.

Controversial but I’d look at Di Canio. Having watched a few UndrTheCosh podcasts he’s known for getting teams fit, well drilled and motivated. Feel someone like him would turn the tide around, it’d be eventful but he’d put his heart and sole into it. Turned Swindon round, his methods seem effective in the lower leagues as oppose to the Prem.

I don’t think anyone is kidding themselves about promotion. Survival first and foremost is probably the wish of most fans right now.

Absolute gold from start to finish isn’t it, won’t have a bad word said about Di Canio either will he.

Yep, one of the reasons Alex Ferguson was so successful over a long period of time is that he regularly worked with a new assistant, bringing different skills and perspective.

    Very unfair.

Parkin was known to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of lower league players from across the UK. When Parkinson was managing City. I think it would be fair to say that players would frequently be signed, either permanently or on loan, and fans wouldn't be overjoyed at the news of their arrival. Yet, the vast majority of those players would perform admirably for the team. We rarely signed absolute duds in that era. I think that had a lot to do with Steve Parkin.

    Agreed.

The duds would often be inexperienced loanees, of which he signed far more than successes like Burke and Cullen, whereas a new player would walk in with a bang average resume and do exactly what we needed time and time again.

Ryan Sparks may be CEO and I’ve had a light ale or two, but I don’t recall any confirmation Rhodes has left the building.
