Think he’s still learning that side as I’ve seen him commenting on other commentators posts on twitter for advice etc. He’s learning and I don’t think he will work at Radio Leeds forever. He’s decent

 

I agree with almost everything you say. Apart from the final paragraph. I think there are extenuating circumstances that means that they can't afford to gamble with this appointment. Regardless of who they might find new and exciting.

The club needs the football equivalent of a Red Adair, a very safe and experienced appointment who'll ensure (as much as anyone can) that they remain a league club come next May. Someone who knows the league and knows what it takes to be competitive in it. Giving the job to a hungry rookie now would be a massive gamble. I don't think they should roll the dice at this point. Give someone the job until next year if needs be, then spend that time looking at where they want to take the club come next year.

No. But not because of the nationality aspect. Purely for footballing reasons, Newport are a better draw for any manager. I think we'd be interested but I don't think he would.

Thank you. Your second paragraph is what I thought and therefore it then comes to a negotiation as @Dennis also suggested as to how much the pay out is. The better scenario being that we pay out less than what he would have got if he'd completed his contact.

 

In normal circumstances I would agree but in the position we are in we need the best we can get even if they only commit till the end of the season

 

Don’t like temporary. Grayson was temporary with a massive reputation and he is one of the worst managers we have ever had. Didn’t care one bit and his football was awful. Moaned a lot then walked away. Would rather have some commitment longer term

 

That’s the trouble people always find mitigating circumstances with Stuart they wouldn’t with anyone else

 

Not for me, previous departures were all clearly understandable. In fact the last manager whose sacking I disagreed with was Colin Todd in 2007.

 

Just to compare bowyer took over in similar circumstances and result wise we did a lot better than this season

 

Have to disagree. The one thing Stuart was spot on yesterday was the gaps we have in the starting XI. If we are serious about signing 4 first teamers then we need a manager who has an input on it and that players can see who they will be playing for longer than ‘potentially’ a few months.

Firstly, I’m absolutely gutted for Stuart. Yesterday’s interview left me feeling incredibly sorry for him as I felt he was at a loss with it all. It’s 100% the right decision but it it doesn’t make it a nice one. In this instance he’ll still be remembered at this club for all the right reasons.

Now onto fixing this almighty hole we are in. Perhaps this decision is a wake up call to those massively underperforming players that we serious to need to step it up.

As for the successor, most of the names been brandished around I’m ok with. However I’ll be completely at a loss with Woodgate which means it will probably be him!

Maybe, football clubs in Div 2 are started to get worried.

What? You blaming the players? They've tried their very bestest all season, were terrific at times, great attacking football, sound defensively....shake your head Mike!!!

 

Some good points there, Stuart's gone now and that's it but the players he had struggled to play to any system he asked of them.
One thing I will say is that had Novak been available all season we would at least have been in a less precarious position. Even though he has been out for weeks and is probably not fully match fit you could see yesterday the difference he made. Having said that we still wouldn't have been where we should be because of the rest of the squad's weaknesses.
