Depends on what we are talking about.

- Performances from January - Players to blame
- Transfers - Transfer Committee (mainly Abbott)
- Direction of club - Rahic
- Poor communication - Rahic
- Appointment of new HC - Rahic & Rupp
- Demise of McCall - Rahic & McCall

 

Didn’t Rahic say it was poor communication with fans and not being able to get everyone singing from the same hymn sheet?

I'd agree with most of that, baring a few things.

Poor communication, I think you need to add marketing/PR team to that list. I doubt Rahic's responsible for everything that goes out, that tweet saying get ready for a signing then them having to retract it until the day after, I'd be shocked if that were him I think the club as a whole could be a bit more on the ball, regular season ticket sales updates for a starters.

And Transfers I can't see how the whole blame can be on Abbott without the facts, or even most of the blame for a matter of fact. What's to say he didn't scout far better and the owners wouldn't back him with the Finances to make them happen, Rahic has already said we don't have set budgets before "if they're the right player we'll go for them". This makes Abbos job difficult as he can't go find realistic targets within a set budget.

Perhaps I phrased the first one wrong. I was specifically referring to the lack of communication, rather than what snippets we do get. Didn’t Rahic recently say it’s an area we need to improve yet (in my opinion) we haven’t. The manager/HC circus highlights this.

Then, he clamps down on staff releasing information/interacting with fans. So, for whatever reason, we are now actually getting less info from the club despite Rahic’s assurances.

Finally on this, whilst I agree that Rahic wasn’t responsible for the tweets, he must have given them authorisation to send it. Haven’t some said that he has stopped staff members from tweeting? So I expect that when they do, it must be with his blessing?

In relation to transfers, I did say the whole transfer committee have to take the blame. But ultimately, as Chief Scout, he has to take a bigger blame. He highlighted Dennis just 4mths ago as someone we should spend £175k on. And when he became available for £150k we weren’t interested.

Rahic once explained that Abbott would be given a position we need to fill and thetupe of footballer wanted, eg right-back, must be able to support attacks and Abbott would reel off 5 or 6 players that should be in our range. Despite that, we signed the likes of Poleon and McCartan.

Even if they weren’t the 1st names on his list, I’d be disappointed they were on it at all

 

At least give them some credit. The videos and updates regarding the pitch work have been first class. When have we ever had anything like that? Even with the changing rooms etc we have had nothing. Communication improved I say.

They’ve provided updates on the manager situation. Why do they need to update us when there is nothing to say? They told us last weekend they expect to make an appointment this week. Now for whatever reason it hasn’t happened, whether we believe the Mail or not we can’t be sure. I don’t feel the need for them to update us every bloody day with a slight change or if someone has turned us down. I know they are looking and trying, tell me when you’ve got a man in. But it’s the pampered I want it now Veruca salt brigade who demand constant updates.

As for Dennis. Maybe McCall liked Dennis too? And he was one pushing for that deal but was let down last minute in January? Abbott scouted him, McCall agreed and so we went in. Since he left we didn’t take up our interest. Could be plausibile. McCall did have a stamp on transfers whether it fits people’s narratives and they choose to believe it or not.

Where have you to the last paragraph from about Rahic? I think you’re making that up from bits you heard at the fans forum we had last season. Abbott stated he knows the position we need to fill and goes out to find players. Reccomends them to the board and they sign off the finances for them.

 

I don't know why folks are worried when on numerous occasions @south york bantams has said things are gonna be OK.

 

Seems to me, (bearing in mind we have signed 2 already) player recruitment will have little or nothing to do with the new coach and possibly, there in lies the problem. On a positive note, when we do finally appoint someone, the team will already be in place for them

Now even the none believers like your self are finnally coming round to the fact "were gonna be just fine and edins educated way forward will reap its dividands very soon".

 

TBF, I’m not really interested in getting daily updates on the pitch work. They said they had started it and that will do me. I don’t need to see daily updates of the grass getting longer and greener.

As for the coach situation and lack of updates, nobody is asking for them to be daily. But when they set a deadline and it was exceeded, I think we have a right to ask for a further update?

On 17 May, Rahic confirmed that “it has taken time to speak to all the candidates, but we are happy with the shortlist we have prepared”.

We then had to wait until 22 May for any update, and even then, it was Parker that was speculating, rather than anything factual from the club.

So, the club have effectively been silent since 17 May when they said they had drawn up a shortlist (took nearly 2wks). Why wouldn’t fans be expectant of an update?

Even this afternoon, they have dismissed the Mail’s report but refuse to clarify anything further. We are still no clearer to understanding where we are in this process, some 5wks after it started and Rahic gave his first interview

 

Whether McCall liked Dennis too, or not, it still doesn’t explain why we spend all of January trying to get him and then 4mths later don’t even speak to the lad. With Riley, he was targeted and we went back in for him this summer. Why was it any different with Dennis?

Finally, you ask where we got the info from in relation to transfers. From the horse’s mouth. Edin Rahic stood up and explained why he gave the job to Abbott and what his remit was. My knowledge wasn’t second-hand, I heard him say it myself.
