Agree with all of this. Good to get a win and some nice play in patches. Mediocre second half though. And are we really to believe that we had scouted Samuels before the game against Wolves? Isn't he supposed to be the last piece of the jigsaw? Now he can't even get a run when every other striker is injured.

Credit where credit is due. A decent win in a no win situation for City and McCall.

Good first half. Can't comment on the second half, as didn't see.

Let's say McCall literally ran a 36 year old man into the ground tonight.

If he misses a couple of games, we either have: Billy Clarke and DMH up front (for the love of God), or Samuels will be asked to go from getting no game whatsoever in the most comfortable game of the season to being relied upon for 90 minutes in a strange, new team.

Either way, Stuart's baffled me tonight. There was no forward planning whatsoever.

Does he think CD is 26 or something?

Well done to the players and McCall. Now back it up with another good performance on Saturday.

See this post highlights why you lose your stupids Leeds bets because you haven't a clue about football.

He's the last piece of A jigsaw, just not the one Stuart's trying to complete unfortunately.

We needed that win. Second half performance was a concern though. Southend were the better team.

Still, having seen Southend I'm less worried about relegation, as one of those spots is taken.
Second half Southend shaded it. Not by much, and they never looked like doing much. The 2nd half was a poor watch. We won the game thanks to a good first half performance. Job done. But lets not kid ourselves - it was against awful opposition.

Our 3 wins in the league have all been against awful opposition. In their combined total of 33 games this season, they have just one win between them, that's how bad they are.

If you missed the second half you didn’t miss much

I've seen this in junior football and that is why he is no longer the manager for me. Win or not.

Enough padding for us not to worry about relegation this season.

It's alarming we lost at Bolton and Barrow though, as they're also poor.

Exactly. It illustrates the context of how poor we are too.

Listening to the post match interview, Stuart is still saying he doesn't want to bring anyone in as they aren't likely to be able to play straight away - reckons it will be a month before they're up and running.

He's right, of course - but we could have brought the 'right person' in a month ago, could we not?

Months ago, he though DMH and Samuels were world beaters. Therein lies the problem.

Bless him, he's a real coach - an optimist, and a patient person.

No comment on Samuels, who is a ghost, but if he thinks he's getting a tune out of DMH his judgement might need to be questioned by someone at the club. I can't remember a winger that poor at the club, at least not one that actually got regular game time?

I dont think Stuart is right though, how long did it take Paul Caddis and Jim O'Brien to get up to speed, more like a couple of weeks.
Maybe McCall has more intense training.
    Ho Ho Ho.
The gaffer is just not being honest with us, no Novak or Guthrie(a loss?) or even Donaldson(expected to play every game now?) leaves us with a Fordy sized Clarke and one of DMH or Samuels.
Good job City have no ambition this season.
