That game should never have gone ahead the pitch was like a skating rink, it certainly wouldnt in this day and age not so much the pitch but the areas surrounding the ground.

This has "shock result" written all over it. We have a good chance of winning.

Telford - remember it well, fans treated like shit and it was horrible day - another abiding memory, we had Gary Haire playing for us up front (nicknamed Pubic) :joy:

Below games all appeal for TV - BT and BBC usually show 4 games in round one but they might extend to 5 because of circumstances????

A mixture of former winners and chances of an upset....I can see the highlighted two as pretty much nailed on for TV.

7 Tonbridge Angels v Bradford City
    12 Wigan Athletic v Chorley
    18 Eastbourne Borough v Blackpool
25 FC United of Manchester v Doncaster Rovers
    34 Eastleigh v MK Dons
35 Hampton & Richmond Borough v Oldham Athletic
36 Boreham Wood v Southend United
    37 Ipswich Town v Portsmouth

We not playing tonbridge Angel's as their name is sexist and not inclusive.

I think at this stage, the Ipswich-Porstmouth game is
a top league match really and the early emphasis at
this stage is the minnows of football beating league
opposition rather than maybe one of the better
    footballing games.

My take on those games for TV potential is,

7 Real minnows against league opposition with recent cup history.
we're not breaking any records of form so possible upset ?
Not likely hopefully, but a big upset if it happened. That's a TV plus.

12 An unfashionable pair in a Lancashire derby. Yawn....

    18 A seaside contest,north v south.Not much else to say.

25 A would be clone against south yorks team
with no real cup history doesn't really excite.

34 Eastleigh,a decent national league side against
    yawn, MK Dons. Really?

35 Hampton and Richmond v Oldham is an upset
possibility but if it happened it wouldn't shake
the rafters with awe so not really a TV spectacle.

36 Boreham Wood v Southend is a real upset waiting
to happen and I think it will. Big surprise? Not really
but maybe the likeliest upset chance so ok for TV.

Am I prejudiced for City to be on TV? Oh yes but I
think it will appeal to most fans everywhere as BCFC
being beaten by a bunch of Angels might evoke some
laughter from fans who like to poke fun at a team who
can't seem to get it's act together!

The BBC might still evade us as they don't like us but BT tv
is a possibility and that would suit my access to games.

He was signed from non league Whitley bay just before the crisis summer of 1983 kicked in. He didn’t have a bad 83/84 season but made little impression in the title winning 84/85 season and was released.

I think we will make a BT live game. FC Utd v Doncaster is nailed on for the BBC but I think BT will take ours.

Although Tonbridge are in the same tier as BPA,it is generally accepted that the Southern section is inferior in quality to the Northern section.I would rate Tonbridge as on a par with the Evo stick Northern Premier league, and it would be a real upset if City don't win this game comfortably.

Telford's manager was ex City player Stan Storton. They went out in round 5 losing 3-0 at Everton.

He got sent off in last game of first season , don't think he was the same player after that as you say poor second season ended up at Darlington I think after that steady first season though
