"Left the club on a sour note" according to Wiki. Yeah I liked him, always gave his all, prone to a few mistakes, but on the whole a decent keeper. Didn't he run the length of the pitch to get involved in that mass brawl?
Suprised he's been released, especially when he's been considered for the Scotland team recently.

Didn’t Ben Williams also get released recently. Still holds the City record for most clean-sheets by one player in a single season (27 in the 2015/2016 campaign)

 

Don't think he's been released, he's been offered another contract but he wants to see what's out there for him and hasn't ruled out resigning for Hearts ?

 

That was more to do with the defence than him.

 

You don't normally start knocking walls down in your house if your about to move elsewhere.

 

I think a study of the best defence's at any club through time would reveal the all had a decent keeper, but being City and all it's "experts" we must have been the exception to the rule.

 

Unless they can't sell their gaff because one of the bedrooms isn't big enough, lack of kitchen/diner etc etc?
TV shows like the one Dion Dublin presents (how???) are all about knocking walls down to "increase the perception of space" and therefore become more appealing to a potential buyer.

Sorry but that’s lame. Williams was a decent keeper (and the same grouping as Doyle). Both good shot stoppers but could improve in other areas. Certainly good enough for L1

Cech was at Chelsea for over a decade and they had a better keeper in Courtouis.

For someone who is anti Rahic and almost in a depressive state over the way he runs the club you sure are setting your expectations low with the possible re-capture of a keeper not good enough for Bury and Blackpool.

Or are you a martyr who wants this signing so you can attack Rahic for lack of ambition?

 

Think you need to get your head out of your backside fella. Where have I been anti-Rahic? I like to think I have judged equally from both a positive and negative slant.

For example, pleased he’s picking up stuff that has been left unattended for years. Happy with the concept of a dev squad. Pleased with his capture of Grayson. However, disagree with sacking McCall (and all the underlying issues behind this), not happy with the length of time taken to appoint a successor.

But if you think that is ‘a depressive state’ ....!

Besides, where have I said I wanted him? Someone mentioned McLaughlin being available so I mentioned Williams was free too and that he still holds our record. FACT..! The rest of the discussion was people claiming the record was down to his defence and me defending him

 

Well I apologise, I have only seen mostly negative comments. That said Ben Williams is still not the answer.

 

Again, I haven’t said he is. I merely suggested he was available (in response to someone saying McLaughlin is) and the fact that he holds our record still.

Just because he was released by Bury means nothing. I’d have Leigh back ahead of Chicksen and he also got released
