If we're being honest that was dire. Defensively sound but going forward we looked like a Bowyer side.

Colchester did their homework and knew if they limited the amount of time Cooke and Watt had on the ball then that was us out of ideas. No pace to stretch teams and get in behind, leaves us so predictable. Those two upfront will never make a partnership, they're the same player with the same deficiencies.

DMH poor as was Ismail. French shouldn't have been dropped but we still need a natural, athletic RB.

Stuart may have though the last two performances bought us time in the market but this is a reality check. You're only as good as your strikers and ours are shite.

 

We're above Bolton in the league but behind Barrow and Harrogate............

 

Defence sounds much better so far this season. Well done Staunton on another impressive display, looks like we have a very good prospect there.

Think we have decent options in midfield

As every fan knows though, our options up front are dire and McCall needs to sort this out sooner rather than later. God only knows why he didnt allow Guthrie to leave when a couple of clubs enquired about him earlier in the summer.

A point is not the end of the world to start our season against a team who reached the playoffs last season and will be there or thereabouts again this summer

 

So disappointed in the lad DMH as has been said he drops last weeks MOTM and gives DMH his position and he does not deliver, you look at Brown who had pace to burn and they played balls infront of the lad to use his pace, I saw little in DMH previously and on today's performance it will be a travesty to keep French out of the right wing back position.

 

Are we suppose to take some kind of consultation from that .

 

Guthrie was awful.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We haven't brought a replacement in for Vaughan yet, why on earth would we get rid of another forward with still no sign of anyone coming in?

 

Commentators kept going on about how well DMH was doing. FFS, he's supposed to be a winger but I can't remember one occasion when he took on the fullback, beat him and got a cross in. Just kept turning back and playing the ball inside or backwards.

 

Guthrie was Vaughan's replacement in January!

 

Wasn't DMH one of Teflon 3 signings this summer? That might be the reason he is playing ahead of French who isn't one of his?

Whats so galling is we get told the lad has pace, if he has he doesn't believe in his own ability to take a man on.

 

No doubt Staunton will be dropped now after being MOTM following on from the ridiculous decision to drop French

 

Not just Guthrie,thought cooke's passing was terrible.

 

That was in January, but with Vaughan gone in pre season, that left us a striker down again, that we still haven't replaced. Get rid of Guthrie as well and that leaves us with Novak and Donaldson. Nice one.
