Are we all really this small minded...take a look at our record of appointments, never mind to Under 23s but to the full manager role.

We find it perplexing that Derby have appointed Bowyer as a coach with their Under 23s but we appointed Teflon 3 as his replacement and overall head of the first team. A Manager who was sacked from his previous appointment at Scunthorpe as the team fell down the division and fell apart on the field and was not offered a role anywhere else. A manager who has now been at this a long, long time but has yet to win anything and is now in his third go round with this club.

Maybe you can explain why Championship Derby County supporters would not look at our comments on this, scratch their heads and say "What you talking about. Didn't you just appoint a manager who has won nothing, fired from his last appointment, resigned from others when things were going pear shaped, for a third go at managing you?"

Good luck to him. It didnt work for him here but he clearly has some ability as he has actually achieved a promotion in his time as a manager which is one better than Teflon 3.

Bowyer as an U23 coach is a phenomenal appointment surely???

Not joking, getting a seasoned manager to work with your U23s has to be enormous.

 

Not if he teaches them to play nine men behind the ball and hoof it up to a lone striker, even when playing against teams in the bottom three with swing door defences.

 

Oh thanks! Just brought back memories of Carlisle away boxing day. First time I can recall chanting an unpleasant song towards a current city manager.

 

I was thinking more of the 0-0 borefest away at Orient when they had lost four in a row, were leaking goals for fun and Bowyer brought on a holding midfielder to settle for the point, with Connolly clicking his heels on the bench.
But Carlisle away is equally applicable.
