He seemed to take a dig and say we were a direct side and looked to get it forward quickly. Seems bitter about it

Just read his comment in the Bolton news, it's comedy gold. Basically, in his opinion, everyone's forgetting the goal of the season they scored and 60% possession means they're the bestest team ever. Most have been in a coma when we should have had three or four by half time.
Evatt sounds like another Graham Westley.

    Taken from Bolton news online:
    https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/18703110.bolton-wanderers-boss-dream-goal-fans-might-missed/

“Saturday was hard to take, on reflection, and having watched the game back two or three times now we should never have lost it. **so funny

“We had 60-odd per cent possession first half, got ourselves back into it. But we conceded poor goals, and that’s been the last couple of games now. We have found a way of shooting ourselves in the foot.
“I don’t know how many people saw our goal on Saturday but it’s direct from kick-off, 19 passes, and they don’t touch the ball. That’s the dream, and we’ll get there consistently.”

I cannot recall them having anywhere near the number of clear cut chances we had.

A bit disingenuous towards our two goals if I am honest.

Reading the Bolton forum noticed this comment.

Doyle – Just wasn’t provided with the service he needs. Was dropping too deep and too wide when he needs to be in the box. Was painful to watch Baptiste lumping balls up to him at the end. He’s not a target man. Get him in the box and get him some service.

Where have I seen this before?

See my #589 on previous page. Evatt might be lucky tomorrow as Zcrewe have 9 out injured apparently but I think he's a man on thin ice already.

19 passes and we did not touch the ball my arris, the final touch before Saravic scored , was Anthony Occonnor and if he had got a better connection, they would not have scored. Deluded . Possession does not win games, goals do, i also don't recall them having another shot on target . One of the easier games for Richard Odonnell.

He's right about us not having anywhere near the number of clear cut chances they had though. We had loads, they had a couple.

Valley Parade is a striker's graveyard, and name players fail at Bradford City.

I was lead to believe we're exceptional in this regard, and it's unlikely other teams will struggle with players like Doyle?

Evatt sounds like someone already under pressure and tbh a bit out of his depth, not that surprising considering where he’s come from he probably thinks he has a point to prove. It’s most likely the biggest club he’ll ever manage, as spending 80% of your own possession passing it round your first two thirds of the pitch might make one statistic look good but won’t get you very far. I’d guess we had more possession in their final third than they did ours, where it counts. Their fans will get sick of that football quick if they don’t start winning from game one.

Is that the total amount sold, or just those sold to Bolton fans?

Interesting cos I was thinking earlier about how SM in the past at City certainly likes his teams to keep the ball and how we could play possession ball like Bolton and then I recalled that during the game we were much more in the final 3rd than they were and maybe SM has tweaked his style to attack quicker? If so I like that a lot.

Hopefully, even last time under McCall though we were never as bad as Bolton the other day. It reminds me of England in friendlies just passing it around the back.

Whilst it grates to say it - I agree with @Fordy117@Fordy117
Bolton will come good at some point. Whether Mr Evatt is around to see that happen is the question?
He's taken a massive step up in terms of the club and weight of expectation. Can he handle the pressure?
One thing that might count in his favour is the current lock out of fans from games. With no physical fans to barrack him and the team it might hide some of the fans frustration, from the Bolton board, if results don't start to go his way.
That might be the case for a few other new managers this season?
I think Mr Negative was sacked when he was because of the reaction of the fans at the Oldham game. It tipped the scales.
