    There again people forget what they say a big theme last summer from some was how we were going straight down because we probably had one of the worst teams in our history. We spent most of the season in or around the play offs. And without the truly awful injury list mid season we might have finished up there

    The salary cap , does have an affect on ticket prices though . 15000 tickets at £100 , reaches your £1.5 million , give or take with vat, in league 2 . So 12000 at £150 about the same . I would increase the cost slightly , say £50 , hopefully not putting off too many , lots of people losing there jobs. As i said , if you have a good product, it will sell .

    In my opinion until we reach the premiership there is no need for price rises twice in the last few years we have been on the cusp of getting there with the same affordable tickets.

    I agree now is the wrong time to increase season ticket prices
    Put a team worth watching on the pitch show some initiative stop the decline and start improving on our league position then when we achieve that a year on year price increase would pay dividends
    Take it from me at the moment considering what other teams in this league have we don't have a promotion winning side whatever one looks like

    I agree with you and it's all in the timing.

    I don't know how it will pan out with the new salary cap and it would be crass of the club to increase prices when it is saving significant money on its playing budget. I don't however believe that our cheap season ticket policy is sustainable if the club has serious intentions of getting out of and more importantly staying out of the khazi and developing its scouting and coaching infrastructure. We've missed a couple of opportunities in the recent past imo but now wouldn't be the correct time. It needs something from the club to explain its development intentions, and with it the impact on its future ticketing policy, and crucially to get the fans to buy into that. But unfortunately that's anathema to JR and not the way he has dealt with things in the past.

    Ok, my friend who is a big Chesterfield fan and also has close Mansfield contacts says the situation across the M1 is still suggesting 2 clubs being in for Danny Rose - I think one of them might be us but whatever its at least a sort of rumour which is what this thread is supposed to be for! :laughing:

    The thing is, why would Mansfield allow one of their best players to go to a potential promotion rival in league 2. Who would have thought a club would be so stupid....oh wait, what am I saying....
