Transfer Rumours

Stuart mentioned he was looking at making 2 to 3 more signings, fingers crossed.

 

Actual rumours are so few and far between that's it's pointless having a dedicated thread for them. Better off having individual ones for each player.

The lack of actual rumours is why every thread of this type depends into chit chat to fill the empty space.

 

Apart from the will he won't he Vaughan saga, the only other rumours I've seen are the Guthrie to Crewe one (which seems highly unlikely to have any truth behind it), the Boreham Wood striker (would like it to be true), and the Luke Hendrie to return one (given what happened before and the fact that his dad is good mates with our manager, I could see there being some truth in this one).

 

Luke Hendrie for the RB position possibly. Might make sense

 

Hendrie is still under contract at Grimsby, I cannot see us paying a fee for him to prise him away.

 

Danny Simpson ex Hudders right back, free agent is the only new name I have heard but no firm conformation anywhere just a verbal rumour no more.

 

They are rumoured to want Neil Eardley who I would prefer so they might release him

 

I think we can wipe that rumour out do to wage demands. He ain't dropping to league 2 anyway.

 

Alex MacDonald Mansfield Town ?

 

Just seen that, hope not, we don't need another aging forward with poor stats.

 

Recognise the name as he played twice against us last season. Played alright in the away game but then even i would have looked good that day playing against us.

 

He is a box to box midfielder, not a striker even though this might say he is. If we do sign him, I'm guessing it means McCall is looking more at pushing Sutton out to right back that midfield as that would be a lot of midfielders we have now. I'm adding Clarke into that as he's an attacking midfielder.

 

McDonald is a tough tackling midfielder.

You could well be right. I don't remember him and am just going off info on t'internet, which I acknowledge is not always reliable!

 

I could hve ripped through us on the wing that day tbf, should have been 7 or 8 not often a team is flattered when losing by 3.
