    Apologies for taking it back to transfers! The young lad from wolves Elliot watt, noticed that Coventry have announced a loan signing from wolves today! So why can’t we if it’s a done deal? Or is it permanent?

    Were we not close to two signings and Clarke wasn’t one of them? We got Sutton but then it’s all gone really quiet. Maybe Watt using our interest to see what else is out there first?

    His contract isn't expiring, signed a new one last year if I recall correctly. As far as I'm aware you can only sign out of contract players until the 27th/28th. I think what Park is saying is that if it were a loan signing we could potentially announce it now, so one reason to wait could be that it's a permanent signing. So perhaps some truth to it being permanent.

    This transfer window malarky really needs looking at.

    I would like to see one date used after which any signings can be made and that would then run the whole season long. Why have a January window?

    So we would have a free for all all season long. Players can leave a club and sign for another club at any time or put it another way the club can get rid of a player at any time.

    I suspect SSN would be against this idea as their incredibly boring transfer deadline day programme would have to run for all season.

    That would mean the bigger clubs or those at the top could undermine any rivals by unsettling a player or buying from a rival to weaken them.

    Watt was the 2nd player lined up, and expected to be confirmed early next week.

    I reckon that will be it apart from 2 or 3 loan signings in September
