I believe any moneys receive from Cup runs or as you say McBurnie money would have to be used in other things bar improving the squad which I find a ridiculous situation.
I'm not sure lower league clubs have the sort of scouting set up you quote, but yes if there is a windfall some sort of scouting system could be set up but once you've made that commitment their salaries have to be found season on season.
Not sure of what staff we have on the footballing side with regards conditioning/ fitness coaches but that side in modern football seems to be the way to go.
With regards the McBurnie money maybe Rupp has taken that back to balance the money lost by Rahic, I dont think much will change with our present owner he does not seem to have much interest in us even though he has said he'll try and right Rahics wrongs.

ANY scouting set up would be an improvement on checking your iPhone’s contacts list which so far seems to have been our strategy. Accrington got promoted in a much smaller budget than City, Lincoln on a mid table budget. Clearly it’s possible to find players to get promotion without spending a fortune on agents’ fees.

 

Any money earned above the salary cap , will not be allowed to be used to top up the wage budget, which is totally stupid as it makes all the clubs the same , if you turnover £5 million - £10 million, you could only spend the proposed £ 1.5 million.
What happens to the balance, infastructure improvements or chairmans back pocket, i have a good idea which.
As a side point , someone close to the club, who cannot be named. Told me that parties were intrested in buying Rupp out, but not at his asking price, which i was told was £10 million.

 

No mate, look at his clubs and all have been up north barring loans to Pompy and Swindon. He was never, ever joining them.

 

Yes your figure has been quoted before but £10m is an unreasonable figure and he's not going to get any interested parties if that figure is true.
What has he done in the time he's been at the club to add any value to ths club, a bit of tinkering with parts of the stadium the players are a downgrade on the ones him and Rahic inherited, he needs to get real.

 

i have no reason not to believe my sorce on the £10 million, he does seem to be in the know and has met with Rupp at least once. It is a stupid amount of money, maybe he just does not want to sell and is here for the long run, personally i hope not, as nothing he has done so far inspires confidence.

 

I've also heard Rupp is looking for something stupid for the club as well.

Funny how he is'loaning' the club money now also...backs this up.

 

It would be advantageous to actually work to a strategy. The two teams mentioned above did exactly that. Even with captain Admin and the fat controller at the helm we had a plan, kickstarted by Lawns loan for team strengthening. The plan totally dependant on Phil Parkinson bringing success which he did allowing an available funds to put toward the first team. It worked well enough with Parky at the controls. Unfortunatley we are back to pre parky days, back where were under Stuarts first spell and that worries me. As it stands we are just as likely to worry the bottom two as we are the top two. I just don't see a strategy for the long term at all.

 

Yeah i've heard this Andy, again from a very good source. Also heard there are people willing to get involved but only when the price is right, and these are experienced football people.
