This incident happened in June. He only put the private plate on the car in the last 2 weeks if my memory of his (largely boring) Instagram stories is correct. Not unusual to buy a car and then need a few weeks to sort out the paperwork on the private reg transfer.

Why did the police not cuff his girlfriend?
Had the other passenger been a black male i'm sure he would have been cuffed as well.
Had the police suspected the car was carrying arms I would have thought everyone in the car would have been subjected to the same before a search of the car was made.

 

Enough to start playing football again in September? Hope not...

 

But they can withhold details they are holding if it could effect a current or future prosecution

it seems he has now instructed solicitors. A complete waste of time and I have to say Ben’s gone down in my estimation over all this.

 

What a plank, neither party has done anything wrong and now Ben will have a huge solicitors bill and might end up with the police digging a bit deeper on him....

City are backing BRE after he was caused "alarm and distress."

Yet he wasn't alarmed or distressed enough to calmly pass his phone to his partner to record it.

Edit. If he was just randomly stopped and handcuffed I would get his angst but he was told why they were stopping him and once it was determined the plates had been cloned he was quickly released and let go.
If peaceful incidents like this mean the police can get violent criminals off our streets then surely it has to be a good thing?

I agree with them here, bit smelly this.. How many of you wouldnt kick off if you were in the same position as him? Bought a car from a someone then get cuffed on no evidence. Drugs and firearms they said yet no dogs or armed response.

 

Also its really disappointing to see fans turn on a player like this. Thought we looked after our own. Its nice to see the club do that anyway.

 

A data protection request will sort out the truth. All logs etc will be on file as to what pinged up for the Police to intervene.

 

I'd love to know if BRE personally knew the people he bought the car from. Would be an interesting twist.

 

They're thinking the same as every other business rushing to virtue signal.

 

The bill will be City's won't it? Not Ben's. I guess they weren't really that desperate when it came to refunds of unused ST matches, after all.
