Are you seriously bemoaning we haven't signed wingers and strikers? It is May 30th!!!

On paper, Wrights career looks average but if we can find the player he was season before last he will be a decent addition to the squad.

 

JW looks a bit of a meh signing, but if he's been signed as just squad player then he would definately be an upgrade on last seasons back up midfielders.

 

DISCLAIMER: This is not a negative post.

Josh Wright looks a solid League One midfielder. He lost his place to a kid at Southend last season, who knows, maybe he's a wonder kid. He also didn't get played beyond a certain point because he'd have triggered another year, and they didn't tell him which is lame.

BUT Southend obviously weren't that eager to keep him.

Sounds a bit like the season Nicky Law had post-McCall.

I'm just not sure Wright is going to prove to be any better than Law?

I'm also not sure what we're going for stylistically this season? Surely we're signing players with a particular playing style in mind??????

Sounds very poor management from Powell.

Also, playing out wide is exactly what happened with Law - and as the article hints, he wasn't moved out wide and then replaced by the kid - the kid replaced him, forcing him out wide.

Either way, he was second choice at Southend.

 

Maybe he was 2nd choice so that he didn't trigger the extra year??

Not really but it reads like your trying to highlight the fact that he was 2nd choice but actually it looks like it wasn't anything to do with his ability but more a contract issue.

 

3 planes, 4 party buses, 16 ubers, 2 hotels, 2 states, 6 clubs, 3 pool parties, 6 restaurants....but most importantly 22 close family and friends on my stag do that I can honestly say I’m very grateful and proud of. We had the time of our lives and made memories forever #JWstag

Josh Wright back off his stag do, so would explain why he’s not yet been confirmed.

 

So surely he won’t be joining us to play he same role as Law did? Isn’t that his gripe, that he was forced out wide? He’ll want to fight for a place in our central midfield, which Law rarely played in?

 

Is second choice at Southend worse than 14th choice (or whatever) at Man U? Not thrilled by either, at all.

 

If he scores the odd goal with a few assists, he'll do alright for starters

I'm not sure anyone has illustrated how Wright is a better player than Law?

That's the crux of the matter, surely?

How come this done deal hasn't been announced then? Thought the hold was the stag do

 

He is going on a road trip with his friend/agent

 

Wright did get 13 in a season.....once. Law doesn't get in the box 13 times in a season.
