I'm watching him now, and for all his effort, he is rubbish. Can't control the ball, and gives away far too many fouls. He's only in the team cos we've got no one else.

He runs around like a mad man. Sometimes that’s enough for our fans.

Sometimes having one player like that allows others to do their job without getting stick off fans

Tonight he was poor, no lack of effort in fact too aggressive at times giving a stupid free kick away in the "D" which Close cleverly kept low as our defenders jumped luckily Doyle did not fall for it and made a good save.

Charlie has looked a lot better with the support. Somebody else to help with the physical work.

Jon - are you anything to do with the Butterfield advertising sign which is on the corner of the Kop?

I thought Wyke was shocking. Hardly had a touch and looked well off the pace. Goal or not.

Not sure how you can describe anyone as 'shocking' after that performance. Unless we were watching different games?

Why not? It's a team game. I thought the scoreline flattered us to be honest. First goal was decent - good ball in from Tony, second goal was a keeper mix up, third goal was a keeper error.

Second half they were all over us. I thought Robinson, Kai and Wyke were all off their game. Guy as usual had a decent match.

Despite the scoreline, I was watching both their two centrebacks, and wishing we had someone like that, who can carry the ball out, to feet up to the centre circle and beyond.

We were scrappy, the ball was in the air more than the ground (perhaps just as well). I'm glad we won, but I'm not jumping on the "we can still make the playoffs" bandwagon just yet. The way Jacobs and the other guy on the radio were talking about Grayson bringing the team together and playing amazing football, made me want to ring them up and remind them that it was only 12 days ago we got spanked by Blackpool and had only won once in 14 games.

I'm not getting over excited either. I just didn't think any one of our players was 'shocking'.

I'd agree with all that. The only thing I'd add is the centre-backs only do that because we let them. We sit far too deep.

Their centre backs all they did was hoof the ball-remind me of a certain R McArdle eh?

It wasn't a game full of quality at all from either team but the commitment and effort was there and I'll take that! There was only 1 of their players I would have wanted in our team and that was their right winger but we did a number on him tonight. Their center backs were allowed to carry the ball they weren't that good.

The second half tonight very much reminded me of watching a parky team and it worked nahki made a name for himself scoring goals like the second and third goal.

As for Kai he's improved in nearly every match I've seen him hope he gets of the mark at Rochdale there's glimpses of a decent league 1 player in there. That kind of work ethic and commitment can rub off on other members of the team deserves a pat on the back.

I think their number 5 carried the ball from his area past the half way line on a number of occasions. Certainly wasn't all hoof ball.
