The Pitch

EFL and Premier league are determined to finish this season even if it’s behind closed doors. No reason to suggest the virus will continue as long as you suggest as it’s virtually cleared up in China where it started. I still think this season will end mid July and next season start mid September minus the league cup and leasing. Com trophy.

 

Walking round St Ives today the Greenkeepers were out busily working on the course. I would like to think our groundsman and his team are working on the pitch and it should improve it ready to finish the season off.

 

If we played there the trees would win 3-0.

Anyway, just seen season done until at least start if May, is that time to get the pitch reseeded or even turfed?

 

Tranmere laying down a new Desso pitch during the lockdown, replacing the terrible surface and drainage problems they had before. I wonder what our plans are for the Valley Parade pitch?

 

They must have confidence they wont be one of the many clubs going to the wall we hear about.

 

Think you will find they have been and worked on the pitch before

 

We'll be letting nature take its course with ours because we don't spend proper money on infrastructure down at Valley Parade.

 

I listened to there owner being interviewed a couple of weeks ago. A very positive guy shame about our Owner.

 

Let's hope it's not a cheap patch up job like last time.

 

Whats the tweet all about? 'A big thanks'? Are they doing it for nowt or summat? And look at the state of the pitch they are digging up, no footballs been played for weeks now and its still as threadbare as Wayne Rooneys barnet. Hopefully we get something resembling a pitch next season.

 

The pitch was never going to look much better as it needed reseeding and what would be the point in wasting money on that for the sake of 5 matches then rip it all up to do all the work they would have done on it in the summer. Now that we know the season isn't going to restart until early June at the absolute earliest (if it does restart) it looks like we've done what a number of clubs have done and brought the work scheduled for the summer forward.

 

Its kind of obvious it needs reseesding, it was bare in patches back in pre season. I'm not knocking the club, the work needs doing. Hopefully the absolute farce of the surface lacking grass covering will be put to bed with this work.

And a convenient excuse not to invest in it properly in the summer, because 'we had work done in April'.

I am sure the undersoil heating helps in the winter and I imagine they will have very good drainage with them being in the premier league for so long

 

Could we get them to write "defend the ball here" on our pitch so our defence know what to do.

 

Good idea Keefly our defence do keep 2 meters away from opposition though.
