Done properly, I can see the merits of the model. It allows for continuity and shared expertise and reaponsibility. It's actually more common globally than the traditional British model of having an all powerful manager.

I think clubs are starting to move in that direction. Most of Europe have coaches rather than managers.

Works alright for clubs like Barcelona and Chelsea, plenty of top level clubs are using the model and it's working fine for them. If it's done right then it's better for the club long term especially with the lack of time managers are at the club as you can plan long term and set long term objectives with plans in place rather than a new manager coming in and changing everything that was done by the previous manager.

 

Difference is that them coaches have an input into who they're buying still.

At this moment it's clear we've no manager or coach.

Maybe, you should kick a few balls on the back streets and Edin might sign you up.

 

Barcelona or Chelsea not signing players that need coaching though and the managers do have an input on signings.

 

I'd expect they will be, i'd assume Greg will know people who know the players so between him, Edin and James Mason they can find out the players character from people that know him.
