From memory after a victory in the Nicky Law senior period, we played the Clashes version of “I fought the law”

I thought we came out to a classical piece once. Was it, Fanfare for the Common Man, by Copland, or Carmina Burana, by Orff?

We've got some cracking locally grown talent we could run out to:
    Smokie
    New Model Army
Kiki Dee (my mums best mate growing up)
    Tasmin Archer
    Gareth Gates
    Zayn
    Kimberly Walsh

Ok, scrap that. Wow, for a decent sized city, we haven't half failed in music.

Aaron Copeland wrote it during WWII and used it later as a theme in a symphony. ELP "covered" it

    Terrovision missing Tallinn
Yeah it's a shame we haven't had our own Anthem over the years.
Check out General Chat forum Hole in the wall thread. Quit football day yesterday on BT some great bands mentioned in the thread.

A big thank you to everyone for commenting and sharing your memories, its invaluable to the project.

To answer a few questions - the reason we're doing this study is because we're football fans who are all interested in the game and what it says about the wider culture we live in. We're not only interested in what the music is/was, but the why - we're keen to see how changes in style, type of music used relate to a club's status, wider music fashions, the wider fashionability of football, how clubs have attempted to commodify the match going experience and so on.

If anyone else has any songs to share please let me know. If you remember roughly what season a song was played that's very helpful too!

    cheers

I think that there have been many threads on here as to what music we should come out to. Personally the ‘Take me Home’ version at VP, is a dirge in my opinion.
I would prefer something adapted from the Terrorvision catalogue (driving Rock from the 90’s- Early 00’s) or ‘Into the valley’ by the Skids, given that we play at VP.
Always thought clubs could offer a suggestion of several different songs and have a vote on the matter. Mmm all about ‘engagement’ and increasing supporters involvement.
Perhaps you could expand your dissertation project to have an ‘aspirations’ section! ;)
