    The number of games played is beginning to level out a bit, with most of the teams that will be vying for 7th having now played 34. Stuart is right, this is a 12-game season, and we need to finish top of our mini league.

    Newport County have not scored a league goal in 4 games.

    They last scored in a 1-0 win at home to Macclesfield on January 28.

    Newport also haven't conceded many, letting in 3 in their last 5. In other words, most of their recent games have been 1-0 or 0-0.

    I'm not expecting a thriller. This is, however, an important game (as they all are at the moment), and we need a repeat of the 1-0 scoreline we achieved at VP under Bowyer. If you can't remember the goal, that's fair enough because it was yet another James Vaughan penalty....

    Newport are in the middle of a real injury crisis. Had a patched up defence at the weekend and not sure how many are back for the weekend.

    couldn’t play them at a better time.

    I remember everyone saying exactly the same about the Macclesfield and Carlisle away games and look how they turned out

    Obviously Stuart is setting us up to be more entertaining than bowyer could ever dream of, but my point is that we can’t assume anything in this khazi league, particularly given how fragile some of our players are at times

    The type of scruffy team we historically tend to struggle against.

    I think our away day woes will continue with a 1-0 defeat in poor conditions on a mud heap of a pitch

    I have been to Newport a few times to watch City when I lived in South Wales, the pitch is not the best or wasn’t. The weather is bad again next weekend. The team whoever plays need to toughen up big style. No freebies, total commitment for 90 minutes plus!!

    Problem is the vast majority of these don't have 90 mins in them, that's the issue. Seems these are only capable of a competent 45 mins at most.

    I would think every up and coming game would be the one Michael Flynn would be looking at getting Newport back to winning ways, as it happens Bradford City are next up.

    I agree, but is it a mental or physical issue? Not one of them should be physically unfit, they have a personal responsibility to take advice from the fitness coach on both physical activity and diet,

    Must win game, we simply have to start picking up more points away from home - Newport are struggling and hopefully this game will kick our away form in to gear.

    Wonder if the game will be affected by the flooding. Travel could well be disrupted. The train journey without issues, looks horrendous. The forecast is not good for the next few days.

    More flood warnings in South Wales for Friday and Saturday, so this game might not go ahead.
