I don't think any of those is capable of putting a good tackle in and breaking up play, would happily see one go to bring a ball winner/recycle the ball midfielder to get a better balance. Mellor and Henley have both been poor but I think we would be better served bringing another forward in with Vaughan and Doyle going. We have striking options but none of them are what I would consider proper first teamers, which is disgraceful for a side aiming for promotion.

With Vaughan already playing up the last thing the squad needed was the return of another unhappy player who didn’t want to be at the club !!

I can just hear "we've still got the out of contract players" line being trotted out.

We're now desperate and will probably over pay on an injury prone player, with good stats from tbe 15/16 season and who hasn't played since.

You may be correct Sunderland have a worse record of sacking managers than your lot closely followed by us.
It will be intersting to see if he gets Sunderland up that will be as far as he goes and they will sack him and employ someone who they think can play the Sunderland way, a little like West Ham were always renouned for.

As many have said at least one striker is paramount we cant leave ourselves open to another situation like the Donaldson injury and being short of cover.

To be fair that wouldn't be a bad swap and we'd probably add to the wage budget if we were to bring anyone else in quickly before tomorrow.

That says Sunderland rejected the offer rather than the player

Well yes. The player says no and Sunderland reject the offer. That’s how it works.

So in the final few days of the window if rumours are to be believed we could lose Doyle, Vaughan, Cooke and Connolly. Fantastic.
