Well part of me is thinking, the best way they don’t get pipped to the post in the auto’s is by having a misfiring, unhappy Doyle playing for one of their competitors. Makes it much easier for them now they’ve signed two new strikers.

 

Dont think City are one of their competitors anymore. They are fighting for the title, we are fighting for that last play off spot

Maybe if we were sitting pretty in the top 3 and firing on all cylinders he might entertain the idea with the prospect of a promotion on his cv, but as things stand, why would he want to consider it? He will be fully aware of the lack of chances we create for our forwards and will have seen the top scorer in the country not get a sniff since he came back to us. In those circumstances, I don't think 'big club, great fans' is going to cut it.

 

Similarly, who else of any stature would want to come to us?
I find it amazing that yet again we're scrambling to sign someone, anyone, at the last minute in a transfer window. Have we really let Doyle and Vaughan go without any replacements already lined up?
If that's the case we must be the most amateur club in the entire football league.

 

We won two out of three at Christmas got a point at Swindon. Hardly a slump followed by the Crawley Scunthorpe and Mansfield with Doyle I would say the evidence is strong
