Hadn't really considered RB with Henley doing okay and Mellor at least experienced.

I think we might need to keep Oteh if we aren't looking at a winger.

Then again, are we playing wing backs who don't attack for the rest of the season..?

 

Bring Doyle back and ask Mark Lawn to have a word with his buddy Tony Stewart at Rotherham about letting us take Yeats on loan for the remainder of the season, then Doyle won't feel so lonesome .

 

Patrick, Akpan, Anderson, Devine - Perm out
Look at selling Doyle for a decent amount 150/200k? If not keep, wouldn’t loan back out.
Longridge, although maybe needed as cover - Loan out
Send Oteh and Palmer back
Keep Cooke and Devitt and Connolly

Look at another Donaldson type player up top and a Hiwula type player. Perhaps a proper left winger too. Combative CDM would give Reeves and Cooke more of a licensee too.

 

Devitt will be like a new signing and if he can repeat his form of last season is just what we need. Our biggest need for January is another forward in the mould of Donaldson

 

Would try to sign cooke and Connolly perm need another Striker for defo. Possibly another left back to cover wood not sure about Henley covering there.

There's going to be a lot of clamour to sign a striker over the next month but I'd rather strengthen the starting 11 first than prioritise a 3rd/ 4th choice striker.

1 or 2 wingers, a RB and a CF in that order is what id have said a few weeks ago but the fact that we now play with 5 at the back changes the complexion entirely.

Bland Bowyer will sign 2 reserve Centre Backs and an attacking RB who won't be allowed to cross the half way line.

 

Parky played in a similar way defensive wise none of the back 4 went beyond the halfway line that often unless for set pieces.

 

Meredith was given plenty of licence to get forward.

True, but I can’t see Connelly playing there when Donaldson is back. Connelly is okay on the right but I’m not sure we have a proper left winger in the squad? I’d say we need to bring one in but it looks like 5-3-2 is here to stay.

 

Just for the record, is everyone happy for Akpan to leave?

If he suddenly turns into a world beater, please don’t start having a go at the club for getting rid.
