Only just got around to watching this. Seemed a fair enough interview to me.

I don't particularly agree with the strategy but at least he's committed to it and there are some benefits.

He seemed genuinely surprised by the negativity some of his past comments such as "I know football" have received. He's certainly underestimated how crucial the PR is, especially when he's talking about himself.

Tell Man City fans that! ;)
League champs on 100 points 19 points clear.
I doubt they'd be in that position if they sold all their "expensive risky signings" and replaced them with bargain basement youth team rejects.

Or Bury fans, who saw their club take out expensive loans, bankroll their club with big money signings and ...... got relegated.

It helps if you have the money, but it isn’t a guarantee

    Very fair point.
The frustrating thing is our owners HAVE the money to invest personally in a strong 1st team AND develop youth players; Yet they insist on austerity.
As a fan of BCAFC I'm bored of austerity. If they'd have invested just a few quid in Jan when they had chance we'd be in the Championship now.

Do you really think it's that simple?

To consolidate a top 6 (possibly top 2) position, if you need to buy 2-3 players in Jan to replace injuries it can be done.
If you've got £300 then it is not simple.
If you have £300M then it is.

If we'd have invested a few quid in January and managed to sign our target Keiffer Moore you mean? Because you could argue Barnsley felt the same way and thought if they invested a few quid in January, they'd STILL be in the Championship now but it didn't work out that way did it? Just goes to show there are no guarantees - even when you do push the boat out and spend big.

That's not what you said though.

So if we'd bought Dennis in January we'd definitely be in the Championship now?

Well this is not black and white, as much as this might be your comfort zone. Of course if somebody says I don’t believe a word of what your planning and I have no intention of being part of it, then yes it is best they go, but you as a leader will have to accept you will lose good footballers, managers and staff. Surely a leader Edin, has to have a flexible approach, it is extremely important you listen to ppl, they may have better ideas on how to implement your plan! But if they are not there because they raised issues and obstacles that might get in your way of achieving the plan, that is no way to run any business.

There are never guarantees but had we bought decent backups for the injured 'keeper, striker and "injured" McMahon then yes, I think we would.
I reckon we'd definitely have made the playoffs at the very least.

Is this a joke ?, do you really believe we made anywhere near an acceptable offer to Ipswich for Kieffer Moore, never mind his personal demands.

That's an unfair comment, me and Paul have a great relationship, it bit like a marriage, he disagrees with most things I say and I disagree with most things he says, this is of course with regards Bradford City, but we keep it civil...............don't we Paul ?.

I have no idea what kind of offer we put on the table or whether it was anywhere near acceptable or not but that isn't the point.

If we'd bought him for the 175k agreed with Chesterfield, no.

If we'd given them say, £500k instead then yes. Guaranteed.

As Bradford City fans most have made up their minds with regards how they have seen the club develop or otherwise in the last two years under our new owners, interesting that we each watched the video and yet take different aspects to try and justify our opinions of Bradford City related things.
Very similar to watching a game we all have different opinions on who was MOTM or did a specific job well, this is surely what this message board is about without trying to gag someone because they have a different opinion or because it goes against the norm they are wums.

No the point is the very people who said they would back the manager didn't during the January window, even thought hey quoted "we will be ready for the next transfer window".

A lot of us are worried with what we are seeing. We've a right to voice that.

I was a 'happy clapper' up until a few months ago. Now I'm concerned.

We've not set out to just be negative towards the club.

No Bronco, Telesto was arguing that if we had invested in January, we would be in the Championship now. I used the example of Moore to illustrate that it was a moot point because even with investment, there are no guarantees those investments will get you where you want to be. Backing the manager with funds and being ready for the transfer window are different arguments altogether.

I'm guessing most league one teams would think they'd be in the play offs if they'd spent money on three key areas in January. There's a pretty good reason why most of them don't though.

Go back to the old Bradford City (Jon Pollard) run message board, the recent C&B message board and it was a battle with @Park bantam@Park bantam who was the happiest happy clapper/thoroughly nice chap and even last season very little to complain about, then we heard the situation with regards the unrest between Edin and McCall, many posted it at the time and got called out for posting it.

There were concerns this past season but it looked like even though there was unrest within the club Edin and Stuart worked together for what was best for ours and their club, then we had the turn down in form, most teams have one during the season thank goodness McCall had built a big enough points buffer up to get us through it we thought, unfortunately something much bigger than a loss of form sent our club into a nose dive.
McCall couldn't reverse our form and paid the ultimate price, then Mr I'm a Championship manager took the reigns and also found it was not just a matter of players under performing, something at the club had turned bad/sour and he could not turn performance around, then Blackpool away when the traveling fans told the players in no uncertain term what they though of recent performances.
We get players quoting in the T&A they were hurt by the fans comments, so was my f*****g wallet, it looks like it will take a closed season clear out to hopefully sort this situation out, I get called out for being in their opinion anti Edin/club yet I have openly critised the players at the end of the day the buck stops at Edin's door, whatever caused that unrest in January should have been nipped in the bud with a "clear the air open meeting" with all involved the football and backroom staff having their say with no repercussions, IMO that's how a good boss would try to end the situation.
Oh for the days of being accused of being a happy clapper.
