Then discuss all the options and find a way forward not rule by fear of the sack

Of course you do within the framework. No point in keeping people who don’t want to work within that.

 

That is true, as long as everyone is broadly bought into the overall approach. Discussion about implementing the strategy is healthy, questioning the strategy and failing to follow it isn't constructive. I think you are right, Simon Grayson wasn't bought in and rightly decided to go elsewhere.

We need a management and coaching team that are in tune with the approach, but are strong enough to be able to exercise their professional expertise to deliver it.

 

Why would you say that "This year, there'll be no resistance" apart from Stuart and everyone knew about the situation with regards their working relationship, I'd think the likes of Greg and James Mason may disagree with Edin at times, are you suggesting they will not be around this coming season a genuine question ?.

 

In other words we're fantasizing about getting promotion by having a good team spirit rather than giving ourselves a realistic chance of it by signing good players. Christ almighty some people are easily pleased.

 

Good players or not we have no chance without it

 

It is not rocket science or a new strategy, this is a team game and if you can get everyone pulling in the same direction you can achieve despite not having highly skilled players. Nevertheless you can not achieve that if the players don’t have confidence in the coach, fans and the board. We had that in 2013. So it is a big ask, and it isn’t something you can buy. However, if ppl are dismissed for not believing the mantra, then the whole thing falls apart.

 

Anybody who doesn’t believe in it shouldn’t be there no point in trying to implement something they don’t believe in

 

Glad I never worked for you mate, there were times at my last company that my manager had promised we woud complete the work schedule.
When I came in on nights and looked at it I told him in the morning we would fail on certain parts, gave him a colour coded chart of why we couldn't meet the schedule and that it would be better to tell them Tuesday morning at the production meeting rather than leave it, he didnt take my advice and at Fridays production meeting he got his arse kicked.
Managment aren't alway right and if you can prove your point it should be accepted even thought it may not be to their liking, as opposed to surrounding yourself with yes men.

Not sure I agree with this comment though. There is far too much ‘club knocking’ at the moment, some justified and some not so.

Although Bantams Banter did a decent interview, that statement highlighted above is something they should have latched on to. Rahic made it clear we will continue to play good football whilst trying to develop players. In fact the statement released by the club stated the same and this must be what the new Head Coach buys into.

So why did we sack McCall who was trying to “play good football, giving chances to younger players and making us competitive” if not successful and replace him with someone on the basis of “results only”?

They were happy to ditch that long term vision for a short term goal in February.

 

We are not talking about day to day stuff of course suggestions can be made. It’s about not believing in the philosophy nothing wrong in that but leave if you dont

 

Voluntary or forced makes no difference to me. It is being replaced and the club will be a good deal better off for it.

 

Simple, he was terrified we'd be promoted, these guys can barely fund a league one club, it's easier to implement a buy and sell in this league and get enough points to stay up. In the championship that would be a different story. We're going nowhere under this man, it's all business to them

 

Maybe they should have asked Edin why the fantastic team spirit that was there the season before ( at the POTY awards the team spirit i saw was as good as i've seen in a team environment) seemed to evaporate into thin air? If he understands that he was part of the problem and that he has taken steps to address this then we can move forward with that particular side of the equation.

 

Not if you keep the talented youngster and can’t afford to have quality alongside him. Imagine unearthing another Naki and having to play him with Brunkner because we can’t afford better

 

Only you mate only you, I was giving exampes of where employees can challenge decisions made by higher management ( in this case the owners) sometimes decisions made on a daily basis are the very decisions that make or break situations of how you achieve your long term plans/goals.

 

My 'no resistance' comment was tongue in cheek. A way of saying that he's filling the club with people who wont challenge him.

Not sure about Greg - given his health issues I don't think he'll rock the boat.

But I think Mason will be off.
