I wonder if the club knew Wrexhan were sniffing around Patrick and that s why Bowyer didn't play him on Tuesday night in case he injured himself and the deal fell through ?.

 

That's some leap you've made there. He's a young lad, 3 or 4 months into his first PL season and just because he's not pushing Vardyat the top of the golden boot list all of a sudden he's over hyped?

Im not saying he's a super star but his goals record in the championship suggests that he's at worth a shot at PL football.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. He won't be the first player to be signed up on the back of a game or two of promise only to fall down the non league pecking order. That said i wish the lad no ills and hope the move goes well for him, lets face it, bar Wells we're hardly a place for aspiring strikers are we?

I bet he's available on a free if he performs for Wrexham.

If we can get shut of McCartan, that's two players gone on wages that are probably well above what they're worth.

If one of the midfielders can go too, that probably covers Doyle without doing too much harm.

But that's a big if.

We know half of Doyle's wage covered three loan players, so we would likely need three to go if he's to come back.

 

Getting rid of Akpan and McCarten would probably sort it out nicely.

 

Good luck to the lad, can’t blaming him for snapping Rahics hand off at a 3 year deal.

Facts are he’s simply not good enough, even as a player to come off the bench. But hopefully he does well then we can get rid permanently.

 

I'm a bit on the fence regarding Akpan's future. He's been okay lately.

But with Reeves, Taylor, Cooke, Palmer, Pritchard and Devitt at the club, we should have enough options.

Keyword: SHOULD - because the amount of games Akpan has had to cover for that injury-hit lot is concerning.

We certainly DON'T want to be looking at Gibson, Anderson, Devine, and McCartan, because the four of them are worse than Akpan.

 

Yeah, and don't forget Cooke, Palmer and Devitt could be gone Jan 1st

If we were making room for Doyle, it really needs to come from our already depleted attack.

Patrick serves no purpose, McCartan either, so neither are a loss - I'd much rather any players leaving come from the same pile.
