    Both are strikers.

Let's stop changing things to suit.

I totally agree that was probably on paper the strongest team we could put out. Me? As I said, I would have gone 442 from the very start. Like @NorthernMonkey@NorthernMonkey said in his first post, one up front is excruciatingly boring and is fast proving to be extremely ineffective. I truly believe the players didn't look interested because they knew the formation wouldn't allow them to perform as they are able to. We wouldn't have scored if we'd still been playing now

I actually wasn't aware Oteh went off injured, I thought it was another of GB's odd tactical decisions. Everyone around me in the kop was of the same opinion too, nobody could understand the logic

Oteh was Doyle's replacement and played up front in the original Shrewsbury game. If he isn't a striker then he's a very strange signing given our options in the wide positions.

Im not saying either are any good mind.

Did you go to either game?

There was absolutely nothing between both sides for 180 minutes with O'Donnell agaiin having literally nothing to do last night.

We're at least as good as Shrewsbury right now so if they can be as high as 9th I'd say we're more than good enough to trouble the top half should we get there.

Like you said earlier 442 would have been perfect last night I just wonder if like we've seen before with Mccall he matched up to them and played 5 in midfield to try counteract what they were going to do.

I think he just played the system he's been using for the last 3 months. It was probably our strongest team on paper too but it just didn't work.

This is one of my biggest problems with Bowyer. He's always worried about what the other team are doing rather than letting the team worry about us.

I see us better than a lot of teams in Div 1 currently myself.

Bradford City as a club are massively underachieving!

His plan A is 4-3-3, 1 striker and 2 wide men like a crap version of your beloved Liverpool. Funny enough Firmino who Gary Neville said last week was the best Number 9 in the league just about scrapes double figures and is regularly out scored by forwards in inferior teams.

There’s a lesson there if you can find it, footballs about winning not how many goals your striker scores.

Shrewsbury dont have better players than us and if they do they certainly didn't show it in either game. Last night was one of those where if it had been a league game and ended 0-0 no one would've had any complaints. Similarly with the 1st game a draw was probably fair. They took their one scrappy half chance they had and their keeper made a good save from our only chance. That was the difference between the teams, nothing to do with quality.

    Good shout.

Now if you'd like to let us all know which two wide men will get around 20 each like Salah and Mane I'll take the example seriously.

Totally disagree Wilsden. It isn't an overreaction at all - most fans in the stands are often bemused with the set up. What's wrong with wanting to be the stand-out team in a crap division, especially with our budget and quality of players?

You say Bowyer knows what he wants, but i'm not sure he does - yet. He is still experimenting from what I can tell (obviously the recent injury list has dictated this somewhat) and says he is a huge fan of traditional wingers, but doesn't set us up to get the full use out of the likes of Connolly, Zeli and Pritchard

I think there are genuine concerns and frustrations about some of our tactical choices and team selections, notwithstanding the awful Injury problems weve had.

But all I care about is automatic promotion. Dont care how he gets it. I'd rather go up as champions and smashing teams every week. But shit-housing our way to 3rd place is fine too.

If we dont get it, then it's open season because Bowyer is being given the tools to do it.

Fordy wanted to know what plan A was, I was simply telling him it’s 4-3-3 as he was having difficulty. A formation that a lot of teams use.

From what I’ve seen he gets as much as you’ll get out of Zeli and Connolly, their end product just isn’t very good but they’ve got into plenty of crossing positions. An example was against Exeter when Vaughan had a go at both of them for not picking him out with simple balls across the box. Pritchards doing well I’d say far better than he did at Blackpool stats wise.

Don't get how you can say his plan A is 4-3-3 when he brought Donaldson and Vaughan.

We don't have the players to play 4-3-3.

    Firmino is a 1 in 3 goalscorer not bad for a 9 & 10 player.

Liverpool still count on the forwards getting the goals.

We brought Vaughan in to mainly get the goals and like Doyle. Bowyer can't get a tune out of him.

I know he was signed as a striker/replacement for Doyle (LOL) but I haven't seen anything in him to say he actually is a striker is kind of what I was getting at.
