I think you’ve taken that slightly out of context @Bronco@Bronco. He said that he has various people in positions around the business that know more than him and who he relies on. He has an overall philosophy for the club and if people don’t buy into that then they can leave if they’re not happy. That would be the same in any company. If you don’t like the company move on, do something about it.

Whatever your views I think we all got to acknowledge that the very fact he sat down and gave the interview shows he is trying to right some wrongs. A lot of what he said was perfectly sound. All in all my confidence rating has increased.

He quite clearly didn’t say that.

Well you can't blame him for the stupid question and if your assertion is correct his answer of it not being a priority would seem perfectly reasonable.

    He can’t win can he?

Tries to be more open and honest and gets slaughtered from all angles.

If he came out and said he was an arsehole and didn’t have a clue people would still slate him and say he pronounced arsehole wrong and shouldn’t be so negative

How's he getting slaughtered? Are people not allowed to voice their concern?

It’s on every thing he says or does. Slaughtered may be strong but they are here to stay.

Absolute bollocks. He described them as "good". His words.

So, say we have a shocking start to next season much like how we finished the last one, how long before being 'here to stay' isn't enough of an excuse to buy their immunity from strong criticism?

Fair play to him for fronting up and suggesting he’d like to do it again. I actually like that he believes what he is doing and he comes across that he gives himself 100% towards it. Commendable. Would love it to succeed, but I don’t quite see it. I’m happy to back the club and see where it takes us but I don’t feel confident. He comes across as naive. Expecting blind loyalty is naive. People need to earn respect. Just because they are passionate and in a position does n’t wash. He likes what Huddersfield and Shrewsbury have done. They would not have done this well without having very good managers. It’s not scientific. Good players and good managers usually do well. Even Pep said you have to have the best players.

The bit about wanting to come to play for this great club rather than earn more money elsewhere sounds like it’s aimed at very young players and League 2 players. Footballers have dreams but they also have mortgages. Good luck dealing with their agents with that one.

The reality is that despite your own desire and desperate belief in what you are doing, it’s just a job to many. I love Bradford City and would love to play for us but if Barcelona offer me a contract then it’s adios amigos.

It sounds more like a 5 year plan but in the end I think social media may well drive him out. He does n’t understand it and it really gets to him. He’s mentioned it before. I hope I’m wrong because with his desire and passion he could build us real foundations which in the long term could be good for us.

Very interesting comments regarding the youngsters, that ties in with something a youth coach told me when he visited city. I thought it bullshit at first, but in the interview Edin said, the aim is to use woodhouse to also educate the kids aswell as train them. He clearly said, the will board new youths there, put them through a levels and then they can also train with the club whilst there. Quite an impressive vision that, one that I think is maybe a couple of year down the line but still very good to tempt the younger players to the club. Especially when it comes to convincing parents etc

That’s what Man City do. They sign the player up and they will also pay for the players education, I believe at a local private school. They also continue to pay for the education even if the player is released from the club before they finish their education. It’s one of the things they’re doing to get the best talent competing against Man United.

It is an excellent idea, and will attract young players to us.

It’s time to get behind these guys wether you agree or not. They’re here to stay and so are their philosophies. I thought it was a very good interview and if successful it could be a spectacular success but it will take time and a few years of mediocrity, that’s the problem.

Everything has become his fault because we don’t like their way and even if he does good for the club everyone tries to see the bad in it.

We have invested significantly in the pitch this summer. The training pitches have been upgraded at Apperley Bridge.

We got further in their first season than we ever did under previous owners

Up until January we were on course to repeat it. We’ve had a bad 4 months that’s a given but why do we have to give them “strong criticism” if we don’t have a good start to the season?

Look at Plymouth and Rotherham and Portsmouth. A good start is not paramount to success in this league.

They are not beyond criticism, that’s for sure. They have made some mistakes that they must learn from. But come on. We have always moaned about investing in youth and younger players and now we are and we need to stop and invest in the first xi.

They can’t win sometimes I feel

Interestingly no mention of James Mason unless i missed it ??
Greg seems to be the flavor of the month at the minute
I only hope for Gregs sake with what he is going through and all the pressure he will be put under
It doesn't prove detrimental to his health
Bet Mrs Abbott is not too happy how quickly he returned to the fold

Interesting about upgrading the pitches at Apperley Bridge
Thought that would have been the owners responsibility with us not owning it
