This debate was about racism towards a fan walking to the game. I can assure you, racism in football toward fans and players was far worse and more common in the 70's.

 

You obviously have a hate for anything brexit just pointing out knife crime has risen since the referendum, nothing to do with gangs and drugs.

 

Slavery was worse in the 1800s doesnt mean it doesnt exist now and isnt on the rise. Come back with a proper argument.

Never said it doesnt exist and I find all forms of racism abhorrent. But I am sure whoever the racists were last night didnt do it because of Brexit. You seem to blame everything on Brexit.

On racism in football - not slavery. I'm not sure it IS on the rise - at least in terms of within match stadia. I can only go by what I see and hear myself in games on that score. I think games are generally more family friendly and inclusive than they've ever been - that's not to say more can't or shouldn't be done.

I think Social Media has spawned a new breed of behavior though. It's given the moronic but cowardly element a platform and a shield to hide behind. I'm not a fan of Social Media anyway - I think its a very powerful tool and in the hands of the masses, is a dangerous thing in terms of psychological health and well being for many. On a similar basis, more powerful communication tools are perhaps highlighting incidents more, rather than there being more incidents actually taking place.
