Racism last night

I've no doubt. I just wanted to be clear, because whilst I'm happy to let things go, if it's being inferred that I'm somehow being racist myself then I wont have it and will call it out for the bullshit that it is.

 

Name and shame, then bans all around. Twitter is usually pretty efficient at outing these people fairly quickly.

 

No idea. Im into double figures for the amount of times I've read the posts but still can't work it out.

Perhaps @Clity can clearly spell out what he's assuming you meant?

 

Please share, if you have an answer to eradicate racism the authorities all around the world would be very interested to hear your solution.

Absolutely disgraceful behaviour by City supporters towards their own supporters and absolutely disgraceful behaviour full stop. I hope they are named and shamed and then banned by the club for life.

 

The fact you couldnt call out racism without saying its not just white people who are racist. You immediately 'other' people of different races. Why couldnt you just call out racism why use whataboutery?

I didnt suggest you are racist did I? neither are all leave supporters. BUT this would not have happened in 2015 on a busy street with tons of people around. No one would have had the balls.

Brexit isnt a left wing, centrist exercise its completely the opposite. Im saying when you wake the beast you got to own the consequences. Some leavers just dont want the responsibility of their actions.

The Brexit leavers campaign was mostly based on shutting the borders and load of money going into the NHS.

Both not true and the people who voted leave look like mugs but it did open a can that didn't need to be opened.

I've just called it out for the bollocks that it is. I've made clear that what apparently happened is a police matter, that what we need to aspire to is a society that moderates itself by calling out incidents like this (which I believe IS improving) but that society will never be perfect, so we'll never eradicate it. Fordy made a point about struggling with the concept of white people not finding black people to be 'equal human' beings, which I also struggle with. But for balance, it's only fair to say that racism isn't exclusive to white people abusing black people. It doesn't diminish what happened last night.

Most people would say that "racism is bad its completely unacceptable" and leave it there.

 

Why do you think it wouldnt have happened in 2015. I am struggling with that one because the further back in time you go, the more likely a black person would have suffered racism aimed at them

You've deliberately taken it out of context. The post wasn't in relation to last night's events, it was a reply to Fordy on the issue of attempting to remove racism from society.

In that sense he's absolutely correct to point out that if we are to ever achieve the goal of abolishing racism then we also have to accept that it exists across all ethnicities and not just one exclusive group.

 

Think you’re wasting your time on this one, more bothered about insinuating and taking posts to whatever context suits their agenda rather than having an adult discussion/ debate.

 

No, that isn't my point in any way, shape or form. My point is made clear in my earlier comments that make clear any such incident should be a police matter and that as a society we all have a duty to hold these 'morons' to account. My comment around racism existing across all demographics is in direct response to Fordy framing his contempt and exasperation that 'its 2019 and you would think by now that everyone would know a person who has black skin is a human like people with white skin'. That puts a very specific interpretation on racism, or at least what is alleged to have happened - despite any specific reference to the colour of the alleged perpetrators - now THERE is something you might call irony.

And just to be crystal clear, before you either misunderstand or misrepresent another of my posts, I'm not suggesting that its unlikely the perpetrators ARE white.
