My concern with Law is that if we're going to sign a footballing head coach, we should have kept him for stylistic reasons.

But I'm not at all sure the current regime can differentiate between footballing styles. They just seem to pick coaches on reputation, even if it's the polar opposite of what we'd tried to achieve the previous 18 months.

If we get a similar stylist to Stuart, and Dieng signs and Law leaves, I'll have to question what the heck we're doing. I can only assume by signing Dieng and bringing in big kids, we're going direct next year.

He's signing someone from the bottom of league two but don't worry because he's tall and fast and even though he can't get in the team he's definitely better than anyone who's actually played in a decent side. The fact that England have never won the world cup must surley tell you that?

We need to get shut of Poleon and loan out Patrick , Devine and. Hudson to gain at least half a season in league 2 and see how they perform.

 

Without demanding a totally new squad being signed I think the key areas to strengthen are
1 x GK
1 x RB
1 x CM
1 x RW
1 x LW
1 x CF

That’s trying to be very minimalist and assuming those with offers on the table accept them.

 

Indeed: hope that we will sign replacements who are better than the replacees, that we will sign a few hardened veterans to keep things steady -- as someone posted elsewhere the 84/5 side was good in that regard, with Evans/Campbell/Hawley giving that veteran presence, that lessons have indeed been learnt. ...

Yes, I remember reading that about Hanson in a post on here, but haven't seen it anywhere else -- so I left him in. According to WOAP he is under contract for another year.

We're understocked in keepers and defenders, and seemingly overstocked in midfielders and forwards, but not really when one considers their levels of experience and/or the seasons they have just had.

On the back of his health issues.....I can't see it happening.

Next steps are to come to agree to terminate NKP RV and Poleon. It will be interesting to see what happens with Wyke (who they surely have to sell) 1 year left and Reeves who was supposed to be homesick.
