I’m concerned by that statement. His plan will take years to come to fruition. As @Tawheed mentioned, we’re not going to find the magic formula of turning average lower league players or youngsters, into championship ready ones overnight. I can’t see the majority of supporters having this patience. For this to work you need top scouts, top coaches and top facilities.

With the money growing year on year in the Premiership, therefore feeding down to the championship, we’ll have no chance of competing and no chance of recruiting quality players, who’ll know we’ve now become a feeder club with no ambition of promotion.

 

Let’s not pretend Grayson was the be all and end all . He wanted everything and did nothing to warrant been backed . I think he had a attitude that he was too good for us and persoanally glad he didn’t stay .

 

WTF we are a league 1 club we can't afford to piss about developing and selling on ,clubs in that division with any ambition at all go all out to get promoted, obviously lessons haven't been learned after reading that I really do fear for the future of out club

Its soooo bloody annoying that 2 seasons ago we needed someone to come in and back Parky with a bit of money and we’d have been a Championship side now, but no we get Dick und Doof who decide to hit the reset button and completly Rahic the club over!

Good post @Tawheed you have said all I would have written, only mine would have been bashing the club.

 

To be fair it's always been mixed messages Grayson was a shot to nothing really a last minute gamble to try and get us back in the play offs (don't think he would have stayed either way)
Whoever the new head coach is I don't think he will last passed Christmas he will have nothing to work with Its fine wanting to put your stamp on a new business you have acquired but too many backward steps in my opinion. Don't try and fix things that aren't broken !!!!!!
As for Stuart he was only seen as a sweetener (the fans choice)

Developing youngsters is good as long as we still have a strong first team, which is what was also said by rahic in the article but goes ignored.

Now we have a shortlist id hope we have an appointment by Monday at the latest, then we can see how we're going forward and discover what players Greg has told us to go for

 

Same old Edin same old shite. It seems to me that our two chairman don’t communicate very well. On the one hand you’ve got Rupp saying lessons have been learned. Then Edin pops his head out of the trench for this interview and it seems nothing has changed. The only thing that might have changed is the communication with the fans so fair play on that score. However that’s like saying we’re going to communicate with you more but when we do it will be to tell you the same old bollocks.

 

Sounds like we will have a young coach coming in. Someone in the mould of Ian Cathro.

Feels like the owners want to do a Crewe and build profitable business from selling on younger players. Barnsley have done it over the past few years, they ran out of players to sell and got relegated this campaign.

Lets see what happens over the next year or so. Edin did say he had a 10 year plan to get into Premier League. We are 3 years in to that plan and we haven't progressed on field as of yet.

Lets all keep the faith and see what happens come start of season regarding squad size and the quality of the squad. We are a debt free club and lets keep it that way. Selling Wyke could generate some good funds to be able to bring in 3 to 5 players perhaps?

Regardless who the coach is, lets back him/her and also back the current owners. Its not all gone tits up yet, we was a league one club before the owners took over. (and yes I have serious doubts regarding the owners, but lets give them time to bed in their own plans since they can bring their own head coach in)

 

The big difference was Trevor and Taff chose the players. Tordoff didn’t.

I think Laurel and Hardy might be more appropriate with the very fine mess we constantly find they are putting this club in.

I'll tell you what pisses me off, It's the fans who have bought a season ticket. All it's done is fuel the chairmen to do it their way. If you hadn't of bought one and paid in game by game then maybe they would have to do it a different way to attract fans. Thanks to you all.

 

Yes we did, league one or league two, no different, Lawn said they couldn't sustain a championship club.

Listen, I'm not happy with the situation but it is what it is and I'm going to see how it pans out without predicting utter failure or success.

I’ve not had chance to read any but the op, and agree with him.

Too add my own opinion I don’t have a problem with this strategy if it’s set in stone, but don’t chop and change like bringing in Grayson which was a short term fix. Also this would have been better said after the playoff final, although not welcomed by many. But at least we’d know where we stood instead of saying we’re going for top 2, then this season saying if we’re top 6 we’ll invest again.

 

Nothing really new in the article. They've always stood by their bringing youth players through..
